ive been usin can-filter brand carbon filters ever since I been farming. they sure do work well but they are pricey compared to other brands. im about to upgrade to a larger one. anyone have any experience with a cheaper alternative to the can filters? I want to try something that will be worth it but not too expensive. thanks farmers.

+1 for phresh. Their 8" x 24" filter does just as well as my previous can 75 at half the weight and half the price.

phresh is awesome but not the cheapest if that is what you were looking for. Also you can buy the activated carbon from a pet store and just change out the carbon if you want to save some coin.

well I know that viagrow is really cheap but I dont want something that wont do the job. the idea about filling a cheap filter with petstore charcoal is very resourceful. do they sell the austrailian charcoal that phresh uses?

Do you need a fan too? Maybe a deal like this one? I use a 8"x39" Phat Filter and it works EXTRA well. Not a area I like to cut corners on!

Nice thats a good deal. about 50 bucks less than those 2 items alone. I love that avtive air 400 cfm fan ihave one. its a steal by itself at less than 100 bucks for 400 cfms, and ive had it 3 years now. still rus like a dream. I also like how this combo gives you a good filter and fan. Ive heard good stuff about phat as well as phresh

Phresh is way cheaper than can. I paid $150 for my 8"x24" phresh filter that is rated for 750cfm, the equivalent of a Can 75 which is $250.

Check their store and compare pricing before you buy. That's where I purchased mine, fast FREE shipping and the fans come with a free speed controller.

I paid $230 for a 6x24" Phat and a 400cfm activeair fan...

Can has a new line out that competes with phresh. Its called can fan light....they are way lighter and cost way less than before. Ive used phresh and been very happy! Testing out the new can fan lite now.

Ive heard that can uses a less quality charcoal than phresh. anybody know anything about that? something about an austrailian charcoal that is more fine and porous than standard charcoal that can uses.

tygable, Like I was saying before...Is it a area you really wanna find out later if it worked or not? You should just pick up either a Phat or Phresh. If you don't have a local store then I would pick up one online.....beware of scams and stuff on ebay.

RC 4/8 carbon is what Phresh uses, its the best, there filters are the best, and No Bull Shit they last twice as long as the next best filter, ah filter is NOT the place to go cheap or youll Go to jail, lol

yea phat and phresh seem so similar. both claim to have the best charcoal, both are very lightweight, and both are cheaper than can (even can-lite). so im goin with one of these for sure. I am slightly leaning towards phat because of that sweet combo deal, however if I find a similar combo with a phresh, ill go with that one.

Well all I can say is filters are very expensive no matter how you slice it. I remember watching this episode of "Urban Grower" on youtube and the host was checking out this guys grow room and the guy had this filter system that was the best thing I have ever seen. Instead of the filter being a cylinder it was a drawer system with the charcoal in the drawers. When the charcoal needed to be replaced he would change it out kind of like a cat box lol. Seriously though, I thought it was a great idea because I use a Phresh filter myself but would love to see a filter where they make an effort to make it easy for the end user to change the charcoal themselves. I just wish I knew what that product was called but it was being used by this guy with like one of the best high tech grow rooms I've ever seen. Sorry to be long winded but if I were you I would go with a Phresh filter. They rock.
