@Lumen Boost

No MSRP on the double d papillon.
MSRP on the 630 LEC from SS is $1099.99
Monster Gardens has the 630 LEC @ $699.99 but out of stock.

Also, FYI, I was hospitalized Thursday with Deep Vein Thrombosis in my left calf and with a Pulmonary Embolism in both of my lungs. :dead:

So I've got lots of time to not harvest and annoy this thread ;)

Here's some pics from a couple of different rooms. One is supposed to be harvested now, the other is the tent on 13/11.

@Coir I think you hit the @EliteGrower on the head. I mean nail, my bad.

All Nederland DOES NOT need is more untested Chinese ballasts hooked up to old MH bulbs being pushed past there wattage. And advertising you can run no glass. Boom goes the dynamite.

I'm getting a few of these for my mothers and for vegging. These are from PL lighting and make the most sense to me. I saw one at a show back in July and it was the only thing that really caught my eye. I have been using Pl light for over 20 years until the last two I have switched to Gavita. The bulb is horizontal which is way more efficient than a vertical bulb relying on reflective material. I want the light to go to the canopy not out towards reflective material and than to my plants. Inverse square law. Epap I think has this exact same setup so what ever I can get first is what I'm going with
If I can get the Epaps first I will be getting them through Monster Gardens and I hope you do to :) I look forward to using these.

Looks cool man. I'm sticking with my current lights though :-)

I'm back in bidness y'all.... seeds down - Yeti F3, Foo Dog F3, Lucky Charms

945w of open, vertical bulb Elite Agro CMH over a 3x3 supersoil bed w/ blumats (using pressure reducer thingy since I have a good floor drain... no more reservoir!!!) Low headroom this crop..... but soon will be in a 14' sidewall greenhouse.... but that's a whole nother thread

(2) 6" fan/filters exhausting
(1) 6" fan inlet air from outside on thermostat
holds 70-75 deg F temps

Here we go again, Basement Bob is telling lies and misleading people for his own gain. Bob has never used any of Grobal Distributors products. If he had he would know that our ballasts are a LOW FREQUENCY, SQUARE WAVE BALLAST. That is why the On-PAR 315 CMH comes with a 5' reflector cord.

He is correct that Summit uses a high frequecy ballast. He also hasn't used there ballast, just check his other posts were he admits that Summit wanted too much $ so he didn't buy them. He has only used the DNA ballast with Irradiator hoods and the LEC.

The truth is that he is getting a kickback from grow stores for sending them customers. Just see the quote below.

Grobal Distributors provides a complete plug and play package called the On-PAR 315 CMH based around the 315 watt Agro bulb by Philips. It combines the efficency of the Agro bulb with our proprietary reflector design and digital ballast technology. All of our products are UL or ETL certified for saftey. So i assume you work for Grobal??
The fact is you guys are just using cheap Chinese ballast. specifically, Welthink ballast. Youre not doing anything cutting edge. Your hood is just a rip off of any sqaured hood such as the blockbuster or irradiator.

Phillips designed the Agro Elite bulb and they designed a great ballast to match it.
Why did you guys think you could compete with that?

Sun System and Phillips have already had a 630w unit combining two 315w in one hood and they laid the bulb down vertical.

Grobals ballast/hood combo is worth no more than $200 and thats being generous

i actually do have a global ballast running along side a sun system 315

i plan to do a few comparison grows to see if there is much of a difference at all.

i will admit i did not buy your hood but thats because you made it an option by offering a mogul adaptor instead. My bulb with the global (welthink) ballast is in a EconWing. Cheap & simple

EDIT:
I also have a video I will be uploading and maybe you can explain to me whats happening in this video I post. I mean no disrespect and you deserve a chance to break into the game just as much as the next guy but its the cheap, electronic, Chinese ballast i question...

Why is it in this video you can clearly see how the welthink ballast is interfering with the camera yet the sunsytem seems to be totally stable with no interference?

The Phillips ballast is obviously maintaining a consistent flow of energy to the bulb and seems to maximizing the output where as the Welthink ballast is quickly pulsating and constantly dropping the the light output?

The Phillips Agro bulb with the Welthink ballast, never even seems to get as bright as the sunsytem so this is my beef...

When I stand in the room with the two lights, I can clearly see the bulb pulsating but not as intense as the video shows....

I will also say that yes it does seem that Basement Bob has some kind of connection with a sunsytem retailer and he def seems to push these things even though he is clearly not a rep but somehow profiting??

Its obvious you two have some bad blood and its been admitted on both side so theres not much to wonder about that.

Basement bob if you have not used their new ON PAR 315 then please refrain from adding anything else about this company. I understand you were involved with them when they were just starting and all which is valid but its starting to turn into a pissing match...

I understand that theres not going to be a measurable amount of light i can see with my naked eye and the pulsing i see is minimal (almost non existent) and only noticed in my peripheral vision.

I have not shorted my cord yet and my ballast is within a foot of my hood so what would be your suggestion? I think the sunsytem is at most 5' so same with the welthink? i really do appreciate you taking the time to respond to me

its hard to believe that the the cheap econowing wouldn't work well enough with this bulb.

@We Solidarity has posted some very impressive shots of a warehouse he has managed where they were using (i think he said) 100
315 agro elite bulbs paired with the econcowing and the phillips ballast.

I also use econowing in my bigger flower space with 1000w hps and have just as great success as when using any other hood

What you see as fllickering on that cheap ballast is just different frequency that it runs on. In both cases you can see darker stripes running through your screen. The expensive ballast just runs at different frequency which is pretty much synchronized better with your cammera as the cheaper one. Are you seeing this with your naked eye? Does it have dimming ability? Does it run on full power? The extension cord shouldn't have much ro do with the flickering unless there's so much voltage drop on that cord that the ballast is not seeing enough voltage. But in that case your extension cord would be pretty darn warm too.

I'll chime in here...I use grobal units as well as summit units, grobals on welthinks and summits on Phillips ballasts.

There is ZERO difference. Apples and apples, I've seen a facility running all grobals and the company running it is straight killing the game in Colorado...I doubt there are any who could compete once that operation is scaled up. I designed a facility last year using summit units in veg and honestly I'm noticing better growth out of the grobals with their hood, which is definitely different than most other hoods I've used.

The Agro Elite 315w Bulb is suppose to be operated with a low freq/square wave length ballast. This is why i question the Welthink ballast.

It seems to operate like a standard high freq electronic ballast. There is no dimming option so yes the ballast is being operated at full strength

Then it's just the weird frequency. If it's operating on high frequency then you'll get way shorter lifecycle with your bulb.

yes, i am aware.

do you not see how the electric ballast never even pushes the bulb to the same brightness and the phillips ballast?

theres no denying that the phillips ballast works better with the bulb they created

I don't get it...are Phillips ballasts not electronic? Both ballasts are low frequency pushing the same current I literally see no difference between hundreds of units
