cheap 1k bps bulbs

anyone have any good expierences with cheap hps 1k bulbs? ive always ran horti's and like them but I got a small 1k setup im setting up and thinking about trying a cheap bulb to see the difference. I have one friend that ran a htg cheapo's and hit 2 per so im thinking about trying those.

Don't run 1K, run 600, Plantmax is the easiest bulb I've worked with. Just do it.

Cheap bulbs work fine. Like your friend, I've hit 2 per with cheap (Philips, Eiko, and Sunleaves) bulbs. IMO, there isn't quality or quantity to be found in a bulb.

When I started growing I always used Hortilux bulbs. A couple of years in I went to the hydro store to pick up a couple of new Hortilux 1ks. They only had 1 Hortilux in stock, so I grabbed it and a standard bulb. I was monocropping 2k at the time and both lights ended up identical in quantity and quantity. I haven't bought a 'special' bulb since.

If you goal is 2 per, you definitely want to run 1ks. It's not going to happen with a 600s.
