Ummm damn. Cap, you are THE MAN for pointing that out. That post you put up there is outstanding for me. I've been running consistently around 1.4-1.6 EC where it looks like I should be running more around .9 EC or even a little less. And, given that these weird deficiencies started when I had that mess up of a 2.4EC rez, I bet that's what caused it.

Phew! and ttystikk, I'm finding out now that too much of lots of things can lock out things like N and Mg, etc, and could be giving me my yellow leaves. Ah, this thread makes me happy. :)

Yeah, this thread is definitely happenin' for me too- since I'm in the thick of what seems to be a consensus diagnosis of nutrient lockout due to high EC, I'm now wondering what to do next; dump the batch and start over, or just add some plain water and bring the EC down?

Yea, that's what I just did a few minutes ago. But even if I had to dump it all out, I wouldn't feel bad 'cause each rez change costs me like 50 freakin' cents!! Love it. Also... just missed a call from Morton's. We're in a battle of phone tag over their calcium chloride.

Can you detail how you posted a picture of the calculator, and then I can post theveg and bloom formulas I am using?

Also... I just take a screenshot of the calculator and upload it. Is that what you mean with your Q? I personally use a program called Skitch. But there's loads of programs out there to do that, and if you happen to be on a Mac, that functionality is even built into the OS.

Man I was just about to post all of those guys profiles. I think your profle looks good but I woudl add the MOST and the Cl if you are using RO water.

There is a thread at IC where spurr says that the Ca:Mg ratio is meaningless. They dont really have an affect on one another. I am still looking in to this.

tap water shoudl have Cl and some micro nutes.minerals already in it. RO water does not.

Just a quick update since I dropped my EC... had some really great new root growth yesterday, and new leaf growth, too, which hadn't happened in over a week! Nothing like the looks of fresh ultra white roots...

My girls are still looking kinda yellow, and root growth isn't what I wish it were. I did add water and pH down- at EC 1.2 and ph 5.56 now, if they don't perk up in another day or so I'm gonna just dump the water and start over. I'm totally lovin' the ability to do that with the Jacks and not worry about breakin' the bank!

Yea, the yellow leaves didn't turn green again, but I've got some new growth that's green and healthy and leaves that aren't drooping down anymore. All are perky. :)

You can run coco DTW and will kill it. My plants didnt do well until I upped the EC to 2.2 when they were in their second week of flower. Before that I was runnign like 1.1 and they were showing signs of deficiencies.

also depends on the strain. My kosher kush and cannadential eat a shit load. If I give everyone the same diet, some thrive and some crap out.

What I realized last night is that in my mpb I am not having a ca deficiency. I am having a total nute toxicity. I shoudl have been running everything at around 50% (1.1 EC)

oops. theres always next time!

can you clarify this assessment?

can anyone point me to a thread showing why we should use 2-1-4 over 2-1-3.

2-1-3 is based off of fat man and 2-1-4 is based off using jacks ratio. Is going 2-1-4 a compensation for using jacks to meet the 2-1-3 ratio?

According to ds latest profile posted using GH he runs 2.69 - 1 - 3.51 with 1/4 more cal mag. which puts him at 2.82-1-3.51

Would it be more beneficial to go for 2-1-3 (post stretch) jacks or otherwise?

You can feed the coco more than the MPB.

my new bloom formula

Some raw salts came in to today.

My new bloom formula is:

mono potassium phosphate @ 0.15 grams/ gal

Potassium sulfate @ 0.16 grams / gal

Jacks hydro @ 3 grams / gal

Jacks MOST @ 0.1 grams / gal (might go to 0.2)

Epsom @ 0.6 grams/ gal

Cal Nitrate @ 2.7 grams per gallon

CaCl2 @ 0.1 grams / gal

this gives me 2.0 EC exactly. This is my peak formula, which I will dilute depending on what week I am in.

The elemental ppms are as follows:

N: 150
P:50
K:200
Ca: 138
Mg: 66
S: 76

The ratios:

N:P:K = 3:1:4 exactly

K:Ca:Mg = 3:2:1 ALMOST exactly.

These are the ratios Cavadge was using.

We will see what the results are.

Current system: custom ebb/flo.

I think I need a little more N with my Jacks mix with Rockwool cubes, specifically double stacked Hugos and Big Mammas. Im seeing a touch of yellowing in this run in the rockwool. The plants are true beasts as always with Jacks! I want to bring it closer to 140-150 N.

Big thanks to Capulator for helping me so much!

Good luck Darth!

Ill re read this thread to catch back up on what you guys have been talking about as I have not checked in for awhile.
