Ok

Today I went out and got some

CAL-MAG

PH UP

PH DOWN

BLUELABS PH PEN!

I really don't have the cash to spend on that pen...BUTTT I mean come on.... its a really nice looking investment :)

I filled a 4 gal bucket up with 2 gal of water and added 10ml of CAL-MAG, then I adjusted the PH level to a solid 6.7 and watered my ladies!. I was reading I could use the CAL-MAG in a foliar feed, would that make the plant respond faster?? well just excited to get all my new stuff and start trying to produce a A1 product/medicine .

As always, any input or thoughts are welcomed and WANTED/NEEDED!

I personally don't, but a lot of people do. Your mixture is perfect, I just had to up my cal mag on my Og Kush she started purpling a lil, friggin calmag whore.....at my local shop, they sell this new foliar spray called "shine" and according to those long time growers, they just started using it and have saw immediate results in growth. What kind of calmag did you pick up?

Whenever I used coco as a base for my organic soil mix I was having a lot of problems with the leaves. Looked exactly like yours. However I run strait organic and don't ph my water. But when I went back to Peat Moss base mix, the leaves stay nice and green and no problems.

IMO if you're going to use coco in your mix, run straight coco or with perilite or something for aeration. Then feed totally salt based nutrients. If you want to run soil, go with organics for the win. Again this is just my 2 cents.

How would I work it out if I got organic fully? my goal is to run fully organic. Just having some problems. I'm making a compost now also

lol I just don't want to lose my ladies over this. I been really tending to them and today I checked the PH and some were SUPER low, like 5.0 and some were SUPER high, 8.9. so I ph.ed my water to 6.8 and watered them just not. been doing 2 waterings 30 mins apart. I'm using BOTANICARE CAL-MAG

Here are some of my new ladies ;) I tried to clone without a humidity tank and screwed that up... I just thought my veg room was small enough and would hold the humidity.

all the same here is the new ladies that have been in veg since 8/22
They look great. If you paint the walls flat white it will reflect the light better than the Mylar will. Just saying. Peace

I would ride this grow out with the chem nutrients and in the mean time you can start researching soil recipes. Once you find a recipe you like and can source all your materials, mix a batch and let is sit for at least 60 days. May want to lurk over in the organics section in this forum. Lots of good recipes and you can recycle the soil as well.

I agree with Irietime on the mylar. If you can get it completly flat it works pretty well, but when its wrinkled I think it reduces light output. Flat white paint works very good.

So I put my ladies (Durban poison) under SCROG. I know it late as their in the 3 week of flower but it's my first time, also the met is prob super high but I have a 8 ft room and that's with the light. The weird thing is I have been feeding them only PH'ed water (6.8 and teste with my blue lab pen) for the past 4 days after feeding them cal-mag to tear the problem I had and the run off is CRAZY LOW, testing with the same pen and it reads 4.5 PH. When I use my soil tester it reads 7.0 ( my soil tester is digital an only reads every .5, so 7.0-7.5-8.0 etc) any ideas what's happening? I been only watering with plain ph 6.8 water so I can flush in case it was not a cal-mag problem and just a nute burn problem.

Took a few pics of my ladies before the light came on today. their looking great in IMO. but my plants in veg aren't.... things are getting weird with them, maybe it because i have them under a 600w led full spec light? but the leaves are turning brown on top, drying out and under they are staying this matt green color.... some of the other leaves are showing cal-mag def, but is that possible in veg state? they are only 3 weeks 4 days old.. seems weird. I topped them and have them in 1LT growers pots. any thoughts??? @CallmeTex

Durban is my fav to smoke. Gotta be a b*tch to grow a landrace with little or no genetic help from "X"ing. Very interested to see how it turns out. Keep the pics commin.

I see yours are clones. I need to find some seeds so I can X them and keep that no munchie trait (haven't looked yet). Not a real fan of Trainwreck even though it tastes like a Durban baby. To many people growing it where I am.

I have a ph test kit but have yet to use it. I think severe OCD and a PH test kit is a recipe for full blown crazy. If you're not maxing out their nutes and letting tap water rest, don't see why we need them for soil.

I'm running well water in an organic soil mix and only started using nonorganic nutes in the flower phase. I'm live in heavily acidic red clay soil and decomposing granite so I'm sure my well water is screwy to some degree but I'm not worried about it anymore.

Of course, I am outdoor in huge pots. But still, my roots have filled them completely giving me similar conditions to plants in small pots.

I'm a little envious of you guys growing in indoor soil because you don't have to spend $100+ a week on nutes for 6 plants. Recent events have made it likely I won't be doing an outdoor grow next year and I'll be joining y'all in the indoor club.

Hey brother I love the durban too! mine aren't clones though, I popped them from beans so pure landrace, Super hard to grow as you can see, They took a turn for the worse and stopped growing the leaves started to curl down, tacos down , dry up leaving yellow and rust spots all over them, I'm trying my hardest to keep them alive, I took a few clones from one plant just incase this happened and I needed a second chance. I'll post more pics tonight or tomorrow and thanks for the support!

The thing is were I'm as we have "great" tap water, but for some reason I still get all these messed up conditions with my durban and other plants. I went out to a blue lab PH pen and the run off of my plants was 4.5-4.2 , even though my water was adjusted to 6.4-6.8 ( i made it flux to mimic outdoor real life weather, someone told me to try doing that) and still nothing, so I just did a BIG flush with PH'ED water and put one of them in a bigger pot, to see what happens. The roots looked great so it cants be root rot, but maybe just to much PPM in my tap water. I also just ordered a PPM blue lab pen so it should be arriving today! I thought outdoor would be cheaper since you don't have to buy lights, mylar or with paint, build a room and most your notes could come from a super soil you planted your plants in. All the same I have only grown indoor ( Really wanna work on a farm though and learn how to do both outdoor and indoor . Also I'm new to growing so I wouldn't know which cost more lol

No problem. I like seeing people grow for strain instead of yield. It's refreshing.

So, you think maybe it's a combo of overwater and nitrogen deficient? I know my hybrid Sativa are nitrogen junkies even in flower. That's a tough call. F^ckin landrace. You're brave.

Really, I kinda wondered. When I saw the staggered branches I assumed they were clones and didn't ask you where you got your beans. So, is it possible I can find out where you got em? Or is a private/local seller.

I had an inkling my assumption of clones might have been wrong right after I posted, but I left it anyway. Somwhere I thought I remembered seeing that Durban grows in an odd way.

I don't see any yellow in the pics that would raise my feelers. They look good to me, if not, just a bit soggy.

Found this really comprehensive grow guide to Durban Poison. Don't know how accurate it is yet but maybe you can take a look too since you're actually growing them.
