Chossing a male

So i have a few different crosses im working on. As im looking for the best potential out come ive selected some plants that looked like they may make good crosses. While flowering one of the strains, which has been predominately male from the 2week of 12/12 now has a few pistols. I immedately chopped him, and tossed that whole line of seeds, and the parent stock. But i was wondering has any ever crossed using a male that expressed hermi traits. And was there any good that resulted from the cross?

DJ Short believes that the male to female hermie can hold some good traits. Personally to me a hermie is a hermie. Try to find something a bit more stable.

i remember hearing in a video that males that turn hermi female...produce feminized seeds.. but i cant remember if this is correct.. so maybe should of researched a little before terminating.... but hey it happens..
