Clone stem broke and I need replant...

I have a small clone and the stem broke,. When I discovered that it was broke I tried to tape it for support but this didn't work and the leafs were dehydrated so my wife suggested I put the portion in water to revive it which I did it came back. The question I have now is when can I replant it in dirt? I don't see roots yet but don't know what I need to do to help it along. Any suggestions... Thanks

If you broke the stalk and the tape didn't work you might have to reclone it and when it gets roots plant it
Some people just put cutting in a glass of water until roots pop out
I personally use Rockwell cubes
