Clones and a stretchy plant.

Anyone else grow a permanent marker and have it out stretch every other plant? This is a clone of the one that did the same thing and I actually neglected to try stopping it from getting so tall until week 3 in flower and attempted to manipulate some branches and stressed it out. It hermed on me so had to get rid of it unfortunately. I'm new to growing and not sure if there is anything I can do to keep it somewhat shorter. I just put a little training clip on the main stem this morning but it seems to be already standing back up. Here's a few pic. The one in the back left on the more mature plants is the mom i messed up.

There are worse things than a fast-growing plant. I'd transplant it into a pot and let it grow.
