I am wondering why my Co2 regular on the tank is freezing up? It freezes and sticks on and will drain my tank. I thought it was a bad regulator because I been using it for 5 years without issue. I got a new one and it's still doing it. I did recently move to SoCal and am in a cooler climate. I can't figure out why all of sudden this is happening. The hydro shop guy thought it was my controller but it's the regulator. Anyone have this happen?

a couple of factors can lead to these runaway (frozen) valves. There is a dial that regulates the co2 rate of flow and if it is set too low it will end up refrigerating the air enough to precipitate humidity from the air. Its a particular problem in high demand situations, like hooking up a fresh tank in a depleted room.

the solution is to adjust the flow rate so that it is in the center of the range indicated on the gauge, but it still pays to check the room after situations as outlined above...

you can also run a inline regulator heater to help with that. i also had this problem but i would check the flow rate first, then look into a inline heater regulator.
