As previously stated I work for myself. I have a partial disability and work when I can doing light electrical work, carpentry, etc. helping set up grow rooms and assisting various friends grows. I have always enjoyed forums and found RIU to be one of the best in terms of respect, shared ideas and methods and more then once came away with tips that had real value in terms of what it brought to me and my friends. Inda-Gro is everything I've said it is and to those who choose to attack me, call me a liar and threaten me as has been occurring on the other forum has gotten me frustrated and wanting to lash out. I'm a devout Christian who loves my God, my planet and very much my fellow man who would like to leave the world a better place. Nothing I say will ever change peoples opinion of me or my so called motives so I will be leaving both the RIU and THC Farmer forums as a contributing member from this point forward as I've apparently tainted this discussion. My reason for this has been largely driven by the recent attacks that have now brought in people I do not even know but who seem more then capable of defending themselves. Hopefully their posts will be seen as more 'legitimate' but based on what I've been reading the grow could be in you living room and you would find reasons to disqualify it. Sad but true I'm afraid.

I do this with a heavy heart because I truly believed this was worth sharing. I tried to cross share posts because Spliff does beautiful work and it's important that as many people as possible see it for all it is. The good and the bad. That is how we learn. That is definitely how I've learned. When I asked the moderators at THCF why these kind of attacks were allowed in these forums I was ignored. It's obvious to me that they have their opinions and nothing should threaten their relations with those site sponsors with a product that helps drive a nail into their profits from traditional product lines and continuing financial support. Calling both me and Mother Theresa a liar and then subsequently posting a three part video over why he justified the comment and believes it was appropriate to begin with then by referring to her as 'Hells Angel' in this video was a gut punch to me, as a Christian was completely uncalled for and is more then I'm willing to take as the mods idly standby.

I would like apologize to Buck, Spliff, DonoHayes, and anyone past or present on either site or forum which I've been on that has suffered from any of the attacks, insults to you or your intents that I have apparently brought on. I would not blame you if you chose to not post another thing from your grows since it has now been tainted by me. I was and continue to be excited by the technology and a product I confidently use and have installed in over 30 grow rooms whereby the vast majority of this product is for MMJ users who I've grown quite fond of and the results have always spoken for themselves.

More will come after me to post their own results which I can assure will not have anything to do with me or my opinion as I'm done and request that the moderator permanently remove me as an active member.

no doubt, poor lex got sucked in by a troll from the multi-personality club

I know bro, I really need to stop feeding the fire, I don't know why I keep posting comments when its not even who they say they are. Thats it I'm done with this thread, for real.

Well that got hectic.

To answer SD's question in short, the Last plant I cut down was a strain called Kango-Shi from Mayors Special Seed co based in oregon and on the card for it had said the max yield potential was between 3-7 ounces at a height of 5-7 ft indoors, Using Roots organic soil 20 gallon smart pots three part Cutting Edge Solutions nutrients and light amendments I yielded 7 oz's (dry) and a bit of duff on a plant 4 ft tall using 1 400 watt indagro light. Now that wasnt my only concern, the bud I have grown has seemed to have a higher consistency of CBN and CBD but Until this next crop i cannot say for a certain fact, just from a personal perspective that it seems to more medicinal, or rather, more full, robust.
Now that's what I'm talking about. 7 O's off a 400 watt indagro sounds good to me. Congrats on the new job Dono and thanks for the straight answer.
Cheers

Dono,
Have you tried running a sea of green under an indagro? plant #'s aside it seems to me that sea of green with the right strain would be the best way to maximize yield with the indagros.

So it has been a few days and I dont know quite what to do about my pictures and such, I will be putting them on a photo bucket account to be viewable. Things are looking up for the comparison grow I am starting and I hope to be reaching out shortly with some new info!

You should start a thread of your own, this one's beat and wouldn't do justice to your work anyway.

With so many readers interested in induction, I bet you'll quickly have a bunch of followers subbed-in, including me..

I've been on the farm long enough now to recognize bs when I see it and let me tell everyone my bs meter is on overdrive. What happened to the proof? It doesn't take this long to build 2 identical rooms one with hps and one with your super light, flower 12 plants from clone of the same strain from the same mom in the same medium, dry them, weigh them, and have them lab tested. If it is better where is the proof? Grow plants, trim them, and put them on the scale WTF is so hard about that?

And I just read this whole thread end to end just to be clear.

Thanks Haze.

No the background HPS fixtures were what I'd been using up until I ran the 2 inda-gro lights on a light mover. The second one is just out of view. But what you'll notice is how close the canopy gets to the lights. At week 9+ I'm keeping the tops @ 12" from the lights. Not something I accomplished with my HID's.
You can run a osc fan between the canopy and the light, it will allow a much closer distance. I do verts now and bare bulb but this works with all reflectors.

You outta ask them if they'll give you one to do a run. It never hurts to ask. I do know that they do show specials and next weekend they'll be at the Maximum Yield show up in San Francisco. I'm planning on going Sunday to check out the latest in LEP/LED and see if I can score any deals myself.

One hell of a show and tons of swag to be had. Unfortunately no show deals were being offered on the Gavita's or the Inda-Gro's. Did see a new induction line by Matt Geschke who I knew from all the Sure to Grow videos. Matt's with Brotherhood Products and they had a booth setup showing his I-Beam lights. Less expensive then the Inda-Gro's so they should find their way into some happy tents.

With the rising cost of power and the need to keep temps induction has found a seat at the table. But the system of choice does not necessarily have to be an Inda-Gro. In the interest of finding the best value for the grower I've done alot of research before deciding on growing with induction lighting and I would strongly recommend anyone considering this technology do the same. If you decide on induction than you should look for the following;
  • Check out the published Spectral Distribution Graphs (PAR spectrum values between 400-700 nanometers) the lamp emits are everything to make sure the lamps phosphors meet your methods and plants needs.
  • Does the lamp spectrum design require you to buy two lamps (one for veg and one for flower) as opposed to a broad spectrum that allows one lamp to take the plant from propagation thru flowering/bud?
  • How long is the warranty and where is the service done should I need repairs?
  • Make sure the lamp/driver is UL rated since the surface temperature of an EFDL @ the glass runs around 200 degrees F (93C) and the driver housings will run around 115 F (46C) then check it @ http://database.ul.com/cgi-bin/XYV/t...AME/index.html with a company name or the actual file number. If they do come up in the UL data base you're at least assured of the highest standards for safety compliance have been met.
  • Does the company discuss their products in terms of plant lighting and not kelvin, lux, footcandles or lumens?
  • How much PAR energy does the lamp produce (PAR Watts) and how much of that energy makes it to the canopy?
  • If they are merging or fusing a red and blue lamp together and promoting a veg and flowering spectrum stay away. It's a marketing gimmick that has literally nothing to with with veg or flowering PAR spectrums.
  • How is it in terms of housing and reflector design for canopy penetration?
  • What are it's physical size and weight?
  • Why some of these lights come with a glass cover for an indoor growing environment is a mystery to me but if the light comes with a glass cover is the manufacturer okay with you removing it and is it still protected under warranty?
  • What is the area of coverage and what are the recommended canopy to lamp measurements within that area?
  • How much heat does it produce in terms of BTU/hr. While EFDL lamps run an average of 3X cooler than HID you'll still want to know this so you can factor ventilating and cooling of the room.
  • Do they have any videos or comparison grows they can point you to?
  • Do they have a website devoted to their EFDL products for grow that goes into detail as to the technology and how it should be used for indoor gardening?
  • Does the unit come fully assembled and ready to use or do I have to do some assembly such as installing cord ends or installing a housing or reflector?
  • Is it rated for the supply voltage for my particular part of the world I'm planning on running them in?
  • Unit cost delivered after all shipping and handling.
  • Total unit cost should you have to buy additional materials to construct your own housing and reflector materials.
  • Does the company offer any quantity discounts?
  • Types of payment accepted. If they don't take cc, paypal or google merchant be very careful since other forms of payment like money orders or direct deposit can't be protested should you have a problem.
--------------------------------------
The following links are for reference only as they are companies or sites I've come across that make an EFDL lamp for indoor growing applications. I'm not criticizing or endorsing any of them. They are not listed in any particular order or rank. Do your own research first before buying anything.
