I have 2 goats, meat rabbits, 3 dogs and a huge supply of horse manure.
I am collecting droppings from all. The goats crap alot in the hay in the barn (Ehhh..pen with a crappy roof..lol) and I have been collecting the hay and mulching it with my lawn mower to help speed things up a bit, before I throw it in. I have a big compost pile but I am afriad my layers of hay are too thick.
How quickly will a 5-6 inch layer of hay compost between layers of manure/dirt?
I am wondering if I shouldn't try to collect the goat dung some other way...shake the hay and get the layer on the bottom of the pile with the booboo for the compost?
Maybe the hay will rot just fine...lot of goat pee in that hay
TIA
