Probably cause you cheesed out and got a PC instead of a Mac..lol. I know your pain..just spent 4 hours on my nephews comp cleaning up. On Windows machines Uninstalling can prove a lot harder sometimes then getting adware and spyware...which is what pop-ups are. Best place to start is to go into Start Menu..click on Control Panel..then you will see "uninstall programs" click on that. You'll get a hard list of updates and programs that are attached. Check the dates and names and unistall the suspicious ones. Leave the important ones. Some adware/spyware can be malignant and I think it's because of Internet Explorer, which tends to open with other browsers. Consider eliminating Explorer and just having a good browser like Firefox. Let us know how it goes.

Chickenman,

Download and save onto desktop http://www.malwarebytes.org/ this program.
Instal, update and run. reboot system.

I asked that it be saved onto desktop in case more complex steps be taken.

Some of these new infections are pretty smart. Should malwarebytes fail to instal, update or run, get a hold of me for more detailed instructions.

if your using windows7 or higher go to control panel, click system & security,at the top it says action center, click review your computer status & resolve issues, click security.check and make sure everything is turned on that should be like firewall, updates, virus protection, spyware.those should all say "on" then at the bottom click troubleshoot, and then click system & security one more time.as long as its nothing major going on windows should be able to handle it.
I have chart.er internet and use their charter security suite, best popup blocker and adware/spyware program I ever used and its free to me.gl

I love my pocket-sized connection to the world. It's also my safety.

I don't have a desktop anymore. I replaced it with my Galaxy Note 2. I don't have a tablet, since the Note does that, nor a phone because it makes calls, or a laptop because it's too bulky to carry. I'm writing this on it.

It is a one stop do it almost all multimedia interface device. I can work, play games and do research simultaneously. Yes, it fits in my pocket, but it's big enough for me to find it useful even though I'm getting old too.

Yes, I have a laptop, because one of the few things this device does not do well is Google sketch- but I'm having trouble getting it to take a charge. Meanwhile, this device does... everything else.
