My humidity has ran way higher than what is recommended during flower at night and slightly during the day. With my buds getting bigger I became more and more worried about bud rot and mold.

I have good airflow and haven't found dew or condensation, but based on what I have found, bud rot and or mold is practically guaranteed at these levels.

6 days ago I started running a dehumidifier in the room my tent is in, and it has definitely lowered my average humidity at night. I also raised my light a few inches since I have had light bleaching, and they are really close to some colas.

Now, since then my plants have been changing colors. They were rather green and pretty lush looking overall but this last week have got decidedly less green. Some brown, gold, yellow and purple tones have appeared more.

I am wondering if this is due to the environmental changes, deficiencies or maybe natural fading. Since these are my first ever grown plants I honestly can't seem to figure this out on my own. I want to figure this out so I can either tweak things next run or worry less. Thank you!

The very lowest canopy leaves that don't really receive light have also been curling drying up and falling off, not many but until now no leaves have fallen off. No yellowing like a nitrogen deficiency, they are green still but dry and crispy.

I have never plucked a leaf so I can hopefully figure out how they like the soil mix, lighting, environment, and just naturally how they look. A barometer of their health and happiness, I guess. I also figured solar panels and stored nutrients are best left on to be utilized, if possible.

I can post flowering environment and information if that would help also.

Temperature- Lights on last week 84°, this week 82°. Lights off last week 62°, this week 64°.
Humidity- Lights on last week 62%, this week 64%. Lights off last week 82%, this week 65%.

Genetics/Age- Day 45 since 12/12 light schedule. The right is Dayger by Mosca Seeds, 92 days old from sprouting. On the left is White Zlushiez by Raw Genetics, 85 days old from sprouting.

Light- HLG Scorpion Diablo X. 100% basically whole flower. Canopy uneven, so some varying degrees of heights. Stretched so fast they grew into the light on occasion.
Vessel- Earthbox Original.
Tent- 4x4 size.
Medium/Nutrients- Soil with amendments. Water only, no top dress or feedings.

Training- •Day 15 flower I successfully super cropped the tallest Zlushiez branch.
•Day 21 of flower I tried super cropping two of the Zlushiez branches and accidentally snapped them badly, left them there while keeping an eye on them to see how they did. No defoliation at all.

Light Schedule- 12/12. Day 33 of flower power went out for 2hrs and lost those during lights on.

Pollen/Seeds- Day 39 of flower noticed something on a bud and turned out it was growing a seed. Thanks to this forum, I was able to identify what was going on. I had been pollinated somehow, haven't found pollen sacs or nanners but they are/were somewhere.

Environment- • Two 6in clip on fans and a tower fan run constantly. Good airflow, no condensation that I can see. Exhaust runs 24/7 lights off.
• Day/Night difference in temperature was 22°, now it is 18°.
Day/Night difference in humidity was 20%; now, it is basically no different.

Notes- First ever grow and wanting to find a hands-off method that works for me. Letting the plants do their thing and observing while trying to keep them happy with very little interaction on my part.

Here's more pictures of the colors I am seeing. Also the tower fan is munching up the leaves and buds around it so I'm sure that has caused some stress on the Zlushiez. They have definitely added weight I figure, because they have started sagging and leaning over. They are supposed to be around 65 days to finish or 8-9 weeks.

Just really need a trained eye to help me figure out if it's deficiencies, excess nutrition, environmental changes that I just made or natural fading/senescence. I have looked it up and tried to find out myself and so many answers and information is contradictory. Between different setups, genetics and opinions I can't really land on a solid answer for my particular situation.

Your buds look good. I'm not sure what's worrying you. I see some senescence, which is not a problem. The purple color is due to the plants releasing the natural anthocyanin pigment. Many species of plants do it for many reasons. It may be genetic, or it could be a reaction to stress. It could also be due to excessive light intensity. I think I see some signs of light burn, so that could be the cause. It isn't a reason for alarm, though. If it were mine, I might reduce the light a bit, but others might disagree. It looks like you're going to have a good crop.

Yeah the light has been at 100% and since the canopy is uneven some buds have been getting more intensity. Wish I had a PAR meter for ppfd to really see the output.

The main reason I'm worried about the changes in coloring is it happened exactly when I changed the humidity and raised the light a bit. I figured maybe it was a response to that and I can't tell if it's a good or bad response lol. Or the timing was just a coincidence and it was going to do this anyway.

With me mixing up my own soil blend I'm trying to troubleshoot everything and make changes as needed on my next grow. This is my first grow and I don't have first hand experience on what's actually a problem and what's just a normal plant expression.

Thanks for you input! Hopefully it is just senescence. Researching this plant has been on the difficult side with all the conflicting grow methods and genetic differences in morphology. Experience is really key it seems.

Many growers say experience is important. I think so, too. You'll learn a lot in your first few times growing. I was glad just to get a harvest.

It's hard to say whether the color is a problem. I tend to think it isn't as long as the plants are otherwise healthy. I don't know for sure, but I've heard a stress response that causes the color change can also cause the THC to increase. That's supposedly because THC is a defense mechanism, so the plant makes more of it. I've also heard that some growers will induce this pigmentation because it sells well. I'm also not sure about that. It could simply be a genetic attribute that showed up in that specific phenotype.

Your plants look like they'll finish well. I might reduce the light intensity slightly because I see some 'taco' shaped curling that indicates light stress. I think I also see a slight potassium deficiency, too. Are you feeding them nutrients formulated for flowering?

Yes, I have noticed the curling definitely the lighting. I worry about raising it higher or lowering the intensity since I have such an uneven canopy. Will they get enough light if I back it off?

I was wondering about potassium too. I haven't fed anything or top dressed. I mixed up a homemade soil with dry ammendments and was just watering plain tap water the whole way. Based on how this grow goes I plan on adjusting my soil mix ratios.

I didn't intentionally stress them but they already are giving me free seeds, why not some extra thc too lol! Snapped branches, fan munching on them and large day and night swings...I am not the best caretaker so far lol.

Thank you for sharing information and thoughts. Every bit helps this new noob grower. 😁

This leaf has been like this for weeks. It showed up on my only successfully super cropped branch. Hasn't gotten worse or better. Potassium deficiency but didn't get worse? I am so bad at diagnosing since everything is new. Charts have been confusing me too.

you can clear up some of the lower leaves that are not getting much light, that will also open up the tent to have better airflow which should help with your RH running high

I understand lol…

Thank you for your help identifying the seed problem for me the other day! Now new changes have me questioning lol. This first run I am just reacting as best as I can and hopefully utilize what I learned to get progressively better.
That’s the right attitude to have homie. It’s always better to learn all the time. Just figuring out what not to do is the ticket. Onward and upward!!!👊🏻😎

I figured that would help with the nighttime transpiration but I'm pretty dead set on leaving every leaf on until harvest on this run. Airflow has thankfully been the savior keeping everything okay at that higher humidity so far. Dehumidifier dropped it nicely at night now so I'm going to see if rot or mold develops.
