Considering HPS. Am I being crazy?

Cool tubes dont cool light radiation heat.

A 400w isn't exactly hot with extraction, not going to heat 200cfms of air a minute by hardly anything, imagine it did the physics would be crazy lol.

Im with the guy who found LEDs just as hot as HPS, what I found to despite people saying they were a lot cooler and same light output same heat almost.

Impressive warehouse grow some still prefer hps, was never as bad as others made out.

Better bud from a MH/HPS, I'm sure in five years they will get there with the LEDs as every year there's more advancement, the big companies and cash croppers can afford the electric bill lol. In the UK at present electric is at stupid prices, I'm at 27.9p per KwH

I got AI to calculate and compare the running costs of hps running at 400w vs a mars hydro fc4000 on 12/12. The difference worked out to 25p more per day for hps

I've just added up what I'm drawing, TV, cable TV, internet, house phone 2 fans, (1 for me 1 for the plant) my extractor and main light and I'm drawing 330w and done it at 18 hours so give or take +/- 50w and it's at the UK price cap.

Yer pay similar, HPS or led it's not really much difference and never noticeable. My multiple kw heaters now that's noticeable as another winter rolls round. I know solar takes a hit but the wind turbines in the bay here must be raking it in the rate they have been turning so far hard to think why we pay so much for electricity.

I'm not sure LEDs can get much better, seemed to have reached an efficiency cap most offering Samsung evos on all top specs now very little difference.

To say HPS is better is pure hectic talk and we must slay all xenos alien and heretics on site by order of the god king.....

A conversion rate seems more friendly to discuss, feel I would want 300w top spec led to replace a 400w HPS, others might find different

So I could get a 600w hps running at 400w for about 25p more expensive than led per day in electricity.

The saving difference to a small grower is basically nothing led to hps. The marketing makes out like your saving a ton of cash when in fact its loose change lol

Which brings me back to the question which was for around £45 you can get a 600w digital hps kit. Thats bulb, reflector ballast. Everything all in. Now let's compare to a mars hydro fv4000. That thing is £250.
Running cost difference is 25p per day.
Performance wise how much better can it be when you look at the cost difference?

I don't mind paying £2 a day with the standard charge tbh as it's nothing when it comes to a lot of other things in kitchen, a hoover, Heaters ect.

I've got a smart meter and I'm sure that will tell me the total for where a day, il check tomorrow, I saved up the buds from one of my girls last hair cut and got a few decent buds also, have them 4 days and know smoking it....it's very trippy as it's only on week 6, just now. So watching some ecumenical matter film with Russell Crowe in, it's gonna be nice weed

Hps is throw away anyway, buy the hps enjoy the ride bin it when you got more cash.
