Controlling height (hst/lst) 16 days before natural 12/12

First timer outdoors and have some 4-6’ as of now (7/31) and 3’ diameter. Natural light goes to 12/12 in 16 days.

These girls are getting tall, so I want to top again. Am I too late to second top at say 5’?

Should I instead use a bending clamp and tie downs ? Or do some real pinching and super cropping? Any techniques you all like/use for controlling height at this stage and into flowering?
