I was actually thinking of something more along the line of the same reflector material used inside reflectors, but in this case it would not shroud the bulb, rather just reflect light away from the wall- and possibly a 45 degree angle 'step' beneath the bulb, to reflect light that would otherwise be wasted on the floor. If this reflector were to be mounted with spacers so it stands an inch or two off the wall, it would not heat up the wall enough to be dangerous.

Supposedly ORca film is excellent as far as reflecting all the spectrum. I would just throw down the orca and keep the bulb 12" from the wall.

Stop overthinking shit you could be harvesting already! :cigar:

Lol the ladies are enjoying their new home. For the moment, I have no choice but to continue the overhead lighting due to not having my second chiller yet.

Meanwhile, I can keep chewing on the new design, and tweak it.

Besides, overthinking things is what I do best!

To be fair to Capulator, your lecture about efficiency vs. yield was really meant for me, Thompson.

And you raise a good point- I am currently limited by funds, and therefore I'm waiting out a warranty repair instead of buying a third chiller. This is my main limitation, and the 100A main breaker on my suburban home...

I'm trying to line up more space and at that point I will break out the big wattage!

You pointed something out to me and I realize that the plant would actually need to be much wider than that. It would need to be around 10 feet wide not 8. The plants I grow now are already 8.5 feet wide. See diagram. I made this miscalculation due to the way I measure the light distance on a square vs on a hexagon. On a hexagon you must measure diagonally across the plant. oops.

Bro I have seen an outdoor 10 lbr and it is so fucking big you would shit yourself. I ain't saying it's not possible, but I am saying I want you to show me the guarantee before I sign on the dotted line. :)

7 lights /10 lbs makes perfect sense, but I want pics not words.

Just read the last two pages quickly, a/c condensation is coming off the fins of the evap which has the air flowing thru it which contains spores etc. Unless you are living in the kobi desert why chance it along with the aluminum oxide you are picking up. Lighting up an 8' diameter plant with 1000's will penetrate about 2' inside the plant. I see a lot of crap heading for the hash bin. Trying this because you can, and hope doing what no one has done before I guess I can see the effort. But if you are after meds then I believe you are barking up the wrong tree. Suerte JK

Cap ive seen that picture before, and i always wondered what the quality of those buds were. I mean, nice yielding and all but in my limited experience plants that have the propencity to put out that big dont yield the quality that the cali market demands. in 2013, good luck moving all that mid grade(unless u gotta outta town conect.)

here's one for ya Cap. demonstrates the bs behind dd's claim (continuing to be used even recently by ignorant fanboys) that big buckets are better, or even necessary, for growing trees.

Yes. He's the guy behind krusty buckets, which are a sort of an mpb. Cap will know better than I.

From the graphic that I put up, I gathered the bulbs would be hung close to the walls. How close is acceptable?

no, they are not sort of an mpb. they were developed by Krusty over ten years ago. he called them "Freedom Buckets." here's a schematic:

it seems as if we could use a sort of historical archive section.

That looks a lot like the grows badfish posted a while back. I think dankworth still has them he should post them here. 5 gal buckets in 100% perlite. Killed. it. I remember everyone being like "bro you dont have enough plants in that room! What are you doing?", and then at the end they were all like" HOLY SHIT!"

Actually I have an FPOG that will do this. I will post some pics later of buds I took down and they still had at least 2 weeks to fill out. I just couldnt wait for them this time. Got a bunch of starfighters and cookies that desperately need a new home.
