His dad no doubt helped him make the tubs and plumb the water lines, but those water cooled light fixtures are widely available. I was asking about the size of his cooling plants so I could understand what part of his cooling system is doing which job.

In response to Jalisco Kid's comments about putting trees up against the wall, I would need more insight about how to keep them from dying against the wall. I've had lots of trouble with that in the past. How do you do it?

I've seen you make lots of references to your hedge style, but it's been awhile, if ever, since I've seen a hedge dedicated thread.

Did a little surveying; the room is 10' 10" x just 9' 3". All bulbs will be on a vertical axis so if things are a little off center it will be fine, I think?

Just purchased my first vertical socket. I'm struck by the simplicity of it. And, those light mover wheels in my mind never stop turning...

I get lots of ideas when I get high. Some good, some not so much- but as long as I'm churning out creativity, I think I'm coming out ahead! The key is to try the ones that make the most sense, and then carefully watch what happens.

I do not understand how a plant might have poorer health by being up against the wall unless you have too much plant material there, causing poor ventilation and illumination.
When I start my plants after cloning them I will take say 10 plants whose future is to fill a spot on the wall with 5 other plants. I will train these 10 plants so that all the branches that will be on the wall side will be trained to grow out in the opposite direction. When the branches are about 5-8" long I start bending them in the other direction. I pull down/up all my branches in some way so the will have the density and position I want my plants at when they enter the flower room.. I also trim up my branches and stalk so they will have the maximum ventilation possible during this time. I like to jack up my plants late in veg and hardly ever mess with them the first 6 weeks of flower, other then foliar feed them.JK
I just noticed Cap's grow, I would have no branches behind the plant on that wall.180* of my wall plants have nothing projecting out that way more then a few inches.

Yeah I train them out too and then I clip anything behind the canopy or pull it to the front if I can to fill as best as possible. I get lazy though like week 6 and still get a little larf.

There are too many ways to skin the cat brother. just try something. You cant fit 4 hedges in there I don't think. maybe 3. one in the middle and one on each wall. with a small space like that maybe even 2 hedges one on each wall adn then down the middle a 3 x 9 bed with 3 1k's over head and 6 vert 600's.

Hee hee this is the part that's the most fun for me, though! I'm going to run a quad of trees. Thanks to our conversation, you've laid out how this can be done and I have all the necessary tips, tools and kit in inventory. Gonna do four in extra sun hoods, these will be hung vertically in the corners at about 5 feet above the floor. I'll hang one thouie vertical in the middle and run it with a digital ballast at 1150w.

Excited to see how she turns out for ya TT!
Also like Cap's idea for size and layout. Seems like more sq' of canopy area by his model but either way will be fun to watch.

I would run 9 because It would be easier to max out your yeild, That is if you can control your environment. Two out side rows slammed against the wall and a row down the middle. If that turns out to be a cluster fuck you can reduce it to 8. Suerte JK

I'm going to walk first, with trees, before I try running with hedges, lol. Four trees in a 10x9, five 1kW bulbs. I'm planning to rotate them 90 degrees every few days to even out the light.

27 gallon tuff boxes with RDWC, with 10" net pots full of chowmix with topfeed irrigation, Jacks and Cap's bennies.

Anything else I need to consider in my room design?

If you really want to try and rotate a tree I would put them on mover's dolly or something close. If it is a new room and grow I would look for hot spots and dead spots in ventilation. JK

It is indeed a new setup. Ventilation is by water chiller and environmental control including co2. I'm converting the room from 12 sites of 5 gallon buckets to 4 sites of 27 gallon tuffboxes. My plan for moving the plants is to move the round screen back and forth 90 degrees. If I do it every few days, the plant should acclimate to it.
