Dear Supporter,
Here it is, hot off the press, the Lawmen Protecting Patients news update. We appreciate you taking the time to read it.
A lot has happened the last few months. LPP has been assisting several patient advocacy groups battle cultivation bans in their area. We have also been working with several CA state legislators on pending legislation.
-------
LPP at the CA State Capital
Last week LPP’s Executive Director Nate Bradley along with Law Enforcement Against Prohibition speakers; Commander Diane Goldstein (Ret.) and LAPD Deputy Chief Stephen Downing (Ret.), spent two days at the CA State Capital talking with lawmakers about upcoming medical marijuana and asset forfeiture reform legislation.
It was refreshing to see the warm reception we received from the Republican and Democrat legislators we met with. The biggest thing we learned was that while we have a lot of support for medical marijuana regulation at the state capital, we need to be prepared for a fight because the opposition is all ready spending a lot of money to fight any medical marijuana regulation legislation.
The only way to combat the opposition is to spend time at the capital walking the halls educating lawmakers. If you are not in a position to visit your state representative, another option is to call their office and ask them to the support medical marijuana regulation.
