I'm not as jaded as you, and I believe there is room for compassion. However, this administration got caught with it's pants down. The answer is it can survive in it's host at higher temperatures. With that said, I don't know if it applies to the covid-19 virus. From what I've read, no one knows for sure how it will respond to warmer weather.
Edit: Just ordered a 2 month supply of flowers. With that and what I already have, I should have no issue making it to harvest.
