Well then we would need some ro water but the good news is,
we can use half ro, half tap...
that will bring it to about 200 ppm and we just use FNB...
Only calmag if we see an issue..
I bought my ro water at krogers.
I bought 1 blue 5 gal refillable water jug and ended up with 2 :)
costs $4 to fill both. so 10 gal for $4
used half and half, thats 20 gal for $4
20 gal will last you 2 weeks in veg,
and 1 week in flower
So $30 in water for your whole grow
Qty 4 plants in 1/2 gal square pots of coco

so instead of FNB
I would purchase 1 Gal Botanicare CNS17 bloom
you wont even need Calmg
but I would get Silica Blast
5ml silica Blast
18ml Bloom
1.5 ec
ph 5.8
no ph needed
no Calmg needed

I REALLY like Mother Earth Coco. I love how it absorbs. No need for perlite or anything (won't hurt tho. I just use hydrocorn at the bottom inch for drainage)

Also I was thinking if you are goin to be top feeding by hand I would go with a Lil bigger pot. Like 2 gal. Those 1/2 gal will start drying really fast and if you are busy for a couple days and is drying out you're going to get some build up/lock out issues. Gotta stay moist. I've been in 3 gal and they fill out great with roots quickly and can still feed twice a day in flower but it will stay moist up to 2 days if needed. Now with automated def go 1/2 gal.

I just recommend fnb for newbies and since i can just tell him the exact ml per for everything everyday, it makes it easier for me to help him get started. Fnb or lucas is just a one stop shop :)

The one thing I cant completely decide on is wheather to use
UC roots
or
Hydrogaurd
or
Hydrogaurd and Tea...

I felt the tea saved me last grow,
but this is a UC,
with a chiller,
and water pump...
Them lil bastards could get out of control!
And I prob wouldnt even know it..

For the most part, you dont even know if its working...
can you scope the bacteria?
with a microscope and identify certain bacteria?
I mean would a mfer even want too?
smh...

yeah the CNS is straight Minerals
the pure blend is like a organic/mineral hybrid
to me it isnt worth the money or the hassle in the res if you have one

the CNS17 all you need is bloom
if you want to get serious get the Ripe formula as well and run that week 6 on
all you need is
Silica Blast
CNS17 Bloom
*CNS17 Ripe*

super easy
no calmg needed
no ph needed

but this is with RO water

That sounds real good cuz yes I have a res and yes I run RO. I was looking at their website a couple days ago at there feed chart and was going to get Grow bloom and ripe. What you are sayin is bloom is good for the whole time and skip the Grow?

yeah if you use sweet just get the raw

you dont need the grow
you can start with bloom and finish with ripe
but it is never bad to get the grow
also
over the sweet I would rather run the Silica Blast
so it would be
5ml Silica Blast
18ml Grow/Bloom

for week 6 on
5ml Silica Blast
17/15/12ml Ripe
then clearx flush till less than 100ppm
then water till chop

Question: I like roots organic soil already because of the ph balance and water drainage. My tap water is at 7.6-7.8pH. When I mix the ro soil with my tap water it comes to 7.0pH exactly. If thats the case, is there any need to adjust the pH of the tap water going into the soil? I'd probably want the pH slightly lower than 7.6-7.8 no?

Im not really soil savvy but I'm pretty sure 7.0 is an acceptable ph for soil.. I would not adjust the water IMO.

if you are in actual nutrified potting mix there is no need for ph adjustment
