there is a better technique than topping
let your plant grow to 12"
by then there should be about 6-8 branches

then you pinch the leaves off the top main cola....it will slow down the main and forces all the other branches to catch up
you keep doing that until all branches are equal height then flip to flower
His problem tho, he wont move his light up enough for it to stretch quick enough,
and by the time he gets them like I did, there gonna be 18" tall and all he has is a 300 watt chepo led which wouldnt of covered but 1 of my plants.

I was gonna recommend, we let him just flower out all but 1 of them.
That 1 we will make a mother out of,
teach him to clone,
and have him run an clone sog under that 300 led,,
prob 12 clones at a time... 18" at harvest..
No real veg needed.
Clones will be perfect for just a 1/4 of then cfl's
The other 3/4 of them he can use for the mother plant..
Every 65 days he can harvest 12 or 16 clones

What do you think about that brother?
And he doesnt even have to buy anything else to do this,
eventho i recommend the foamboard and fan/filter extraction like I recommended a week ago..
Thats his only upgrade, and coco maybe one day...
Perfect and if he listen to me, or us!!!
We be getting big props for banging 8 zips out of there with that false flagging led :)

Called FIMing right? (AKA fuck i missed)

hahaha, so at first you were just running the room without a tent with a carbon scrubber and it was still smelling?? the room I'm in is all carpet so i felt like i had to get a tent so i didnt ruin the carpet, now i have a 20' x 20' tarp covering the entire floor..
no what he is saying is a lil diffrent.. I let him explain it but i just did it and it works but i would be concerned if you didnt have strong lights as the plant keeps growing while the top slows.. in the end its 18 inches

Ya I used the whole room. I ran 2 systems in there.. Side by side...

Hmm I'm excited to hear about this technique!

dang thats crazy to me that the carbon scrubber wasn't taking care of the smell.. So basically what your saying is that because the smell is contained within the tent and all the air in the tent has to go through the scrubber that it isn't smelling as much outside of the grow area anymore?

Kinda does make sense..

Well The reason I used the tent was, the last shit I grew stank to high heaven, and it was seeping thur concrete lol...
Shit was on the serious level! My neighbor even said something, claiming he smelled it down the street a couple houses where some hoodrats done moved in.. the whole time he is less then 25 feet from them..
Then Im thinking the fucking mailman gonna smell it,, I about paniced and ripped everything down.. I had to relax all summer over that~! :(

So now its pulled thru a filter, and Im sure the 1000 I spend next harvest will include a new filter.
What kind of filter are you thinking about getting? I use air boxes. Absolutely love them. The ones I have blowing outside are doubled up for security reasons. 100% effective when combined with some indoor filtering also. My exhaust fans all run through their own airbox from each room into a main room which has the double airbox set going to the outside. You can walk around my building and smell nothing.

Of course right now you could walk inside my building and smell nothing except bug killer and burned sulfur.

Well thats the $400 plan lol!
But yes it has to be scrubbed before it hits the room, so that the window Ac doesnt leak any outside...
A byproduct of this is,
I get an updraft of air like this too,
which im hoping suspends my c02 a lil longer in the air around canopy and moving air in itself, is a cooling feature....

ok i have read that a couple times and I think I understand... so pics of both air boxes and a break down on how they are built.. if you would sir ?
Sounds interesting!

Im sorry but i just want to take a second out to BITCH about the high cost of all beef hotdogs like Hebrew National...
I didnt even notice i paid 4 for 4 hotdogs! Im gonna end up kicking somebody's ass at Kroger!
Ok back to topic!

so for all those who would like to know

the "Topping Technique"

on the top of any cola will be the very new growth
what you will do is open that growth very carefully and with your fingers....pinch off leaves with stems......make sure you pinch at the stem
then pinch off the next leaves with stems down from the and maybe then next set as well
that will slow down that branch, redistribute hormones to the other branches and they will begin to catch up to the main cola
you are not fimmimg as you are not pulling half leaves off the main stem
you are removing leaves entirely.....
this technique works extremely well
resulting in a full plant with many tops with a plant that has kept its structure complete without dividing the main top into two....

Ah now that made it all make a lot more sense.. I never really thought about that but I'm glad i decided to put my scrubber directly before the dirty air hits my A/C haha..

Thank you sir, I will be trying this on my next cycle. Almost sounds like it is probably less stress on the plant too.
