sorry guys....I have to rant for a sec

I was just listening to that idiot "Grow Boss"

that guys throws so much mis-information it makes my head spin

this dude calls in and asks about Elite nutrients because something was off with his ppms and their chart...blahblahblah

so this fool tells him....
"so how many watts are you using for light?"your ppms should match your watts to the wall?
then he goes on a rant about how all nutrient companys including this one wants you to use as much as possible

even though he dosnt seem to notice that the feed chart states 3ml per gal = 900ppm
I dont think that a company with that concentrated of a nutrient wants you to use as much as possible

then he goes on a rant about how the tips in the schedule states that only ise as a guide and adjust as needed

it just pisses me off how much mis-imformation is out there and how people just follow people blindly like a lemming

cant people just use common sense

or is that just completely gone now days

what happened to "figure it out"

uggh....that dude makes my blood boil

he is always throwing around nonsense

and the lack of knowledge on hos part makes me even more irritated

yo, wisher i put one of my plants through the ringer before chop.. i gave it 36 hours of light, as iv read anymore than that is not needed. anyhow, i also poured boiling water onto her roots.. hurt a little to do heh.

anyhow, what is the idea behind the boiling water, or ice water. i get the fact it has to shock the plant, and kill some shit in the process. but what do you think is happening. thanks man, hope all is well with ya.. just getting loaded before bed. waiting for lights out, makes a handy timer.

so when you pour boiling water on the roots
you arent killing the plant but you are completely restricting the plant from uptaking any more nutrients or water

you should have noticed that within a few days your plant assimilated most of the nutrients within the leaves and autumned out
within the plant sugars actually start to convert to alcohol fermenting

So when I give my plants the tea I'm brewing should I pour it on straight instead of nutes?
Or do I mix with nutes first?

So how tall would you guys let 4 plants get in a 4x4 before flipping to flower? It's sour Pink Kush so I'd guess about a 60/40 Indica

then plant hight dosnt matter
if you are doing scrog then you need to throw the net down and start weaving the plants through the net

if you werent doing scrog I would say it all depends on your ceiling hight and how much your plants stretch

On that subject... Anyone ever made a "sliding scrog frame"? Idk wtf else to call it lol. Essentially I planned on taking some 4' long 2x2s and drilling a hole in the center of the corners so it could freely slide up and down on the tents outer poles. Then just throw a clamp underneath it to keep it at whatever height.

Would just put screws every 4 or 5 inches and use twine to make the net aspect. Just kinda figured this would help the rigidity of the tent walls as well. My last grow I had terrible issues with the sides getting sucked in from negative pressure. Granted, that was mostly due to getting a 6" exhaust fan for a 3x3 in plans of getting a bigger tent some day. But, either way, I was losing some serious squart footage from the sides getting sucked in a good 4 or 5 inches in the middle.

Something like this.

So, what height would you put the net at above the plants when you start doing that then?

Kinda sounds like I'm going to be vegging for a while longer lol. Hoping once I get them in the 3 gallon pots they'll explode. I think they're pretty much tapped out in the small pots they're in. Just waiting on that damn 3x3 tray

Sounds like a pain in the ass to install/remove from the tent.. lol.. why not just build a typical PVC frame and make a net on it?
3x3 tray in a 4x4 tent right? you could build the PVC scrog with legs that go to the ground, you could attach the PVC scrog to the frame holding the flood tray, or you could hang the PVC scrog with rope ratchet hangers..

If you built the PVC frame about the size of the tent I bet it would do a decent job of holding the tent from sucking in too much..

so you usually put it at the top of the canopy and allow the plants to grow and when they begin to come up through you begin to weave
or if your plants are already say 18" you can supercrop down to 12" and slam the net over the plants
then the plants will begin to grow through
there are many techniques
the net you want to build sounds fine

on pot size
if you are in coco there is no such thing is to small pot size
yes that is counter to what we have all been told
with coco you just start upping the feeds to match the quickness of the dry down which would equal a larger pot feed wise....but the smaller pot and more feeds will producer faster growth

Yeah I suppose that'd work too. I'm mostly worried about taking care of the tent getting sucked in. Turned my 36x36 into like a 30x30 last time. And towards the end I had to go around and tie off branches to the main stem to keep them from being weighed down.

I've been feeding twice a day in the pots they're in since the top starts to dry out after about 12 hours

One thing to think about if your getting that much negative air pressure is maybe your fan is too powerful for that size of a tent..? you said a 6" inline for a 4x4/3x3 tent? I know everybody's setup is a bit different but I use a 6" inline on a carbon scrubber at 3/4 power for my exhaust on my 4x8 tent...

Edit: if you don't want to reduce air flow something else you could do is get a 6" booster fan as your intake that way your still getting the airflow but with less negative pressure..

when I run 1/2gal pots I feed 6x a day
which would equal the same amount of feed as I would for say a 2gal pot just not as many x a day

Sounds like You need a speed controller. I have close to a 4x4 and My 6" will suck all the sides in on full power. I run it at half power.

That's the thing... I have a 6" fan with a variable speed on it. It's on the lowest speed. Like I said, that was a 3x3 tent and I have a 4x4 tent. Just waiting to set it up until the 3x3 tray comes. So the bigger tent should help with that in general. Going from a 54 cubic foot to a 104 cubic foot.

Plan on doing various PAR testing on the light when I set it up first from various heights. Thus far pretty impressed with how even the lighting is when that thing.
