72 degrees 52 rh now with light on...

I pulled the photo out of the table. He is getting over grown. If I was to use the fnb, do I add calmag? Im Just hand water feed... just feel like she would be nifty from different mix. I have the bloom booster in the mix and I want to pull that out and give her the ppm she needs. She looks a little droopy. She just ain't praying like the rest...

so just mix your nutes and pour into that little tray you have......yeah go ahead and run you calmg......when you pour the nutes try to fill the tray almost to the top
you will be able to see how fast she drinks....as the water goes down....she will start to pray

So I have been reading about rockwool. It is easy to see how so many ppl have serious problems with it. It really is designed to have 2 different areas of moisture content. They prefer the bottom to be wetter than the top. Most ppl that use it for the first time think it has dried out because the top is dry. Actually the out side can be dry and the middle drenched. My thoughts are when germinating, after your first soak, I would only spray bottom of cube, a few sprays a couple times a day, until roots start to establish, and peek out the bottom, then transplant.

IMO rockwool is the absolute worst media to use.....
to me coco makes rockwool look like a joke
as for watering.....it is recomended to top feed rockwool
flood and drain is NOT recomended for rockwool

Awesome... I do want to note that I wish my leaves was a little darker green,, They are pretty light compared to the plant in the bucket getting fnb... They seem like they are lacking just a touch of nitrogen.. I know as the plant matures it lightens up, but not yet. I feel like it is asking for something,, and I am trying to listen.... I am talking about the plants in the table with the 6/9/2 and kool bloom... Just all leaves are lighter green,

I know that is what they recommend for like slabs and continues growing, but i mean just those first couple days, till a root reaches bottom, in the little inch cube.

My studies have 2 areas...
1. for my autos I still have.
2. Starting from clones.
My studies are about how to get the most growth root wise, with a median that I can get into the dwc as soon as possible, that once transplanted, isnt gonna cause me ph issues, or contamination of the res. Now i know photos can be root drenched to remove coco, but my autos cant have that. I want these next autos to make a statement! So the faster into dwc with serious root structure, the better.
And really the same for the photos,,, even tho set backs due to transplanting isn't quite as important. ... But mainly this is for the autos,,, I am not the most thrilled to use rockwool either since it is so hard to determine how wet it is, and causes stem rot and all sorts of other issues, but it does an awesome job of germinating till that first true leaf appears. I just can't over water. Thought about germinating something else in rockwool, to see if i could get a real good feel for it.

you think 870 ppm is all right for the photo?

yeah I would jus go with rapid rooter or root riot plugs
they wont contaminate anything and are way easier to use
no ph flux either
as soon as your little roots show through the plug....drop them immediately into the bucket filled with hydroton

I dont think I would use RW if someone paid me....

riot plugs made for hydroponics huh? This could be my new best friend...

Well I did as you said. I dropped the ppm down to 800 ppm too. I did however throw a air stone in it. I am gonna get a paper plate and cut a slit in it to block light from getting down there...

And do you use root riot plugs for clones too? So seeds and clones?

yeah....I actually use the rapid rooters because they are cheaper
they are compressed peat.....they dont break apart and work perfectly
they can be used in any media
it isnt like soil....it is basically a brown sponge...literally
so when the roots pop through...tou drop the plant into your net pot filled with hydroton and away you go....the water never really touches the plug....if your water is bubbling then the bubbles that are popping hit the roots and make them reach for the water....the plug is just to the seed and hold the root structure until it is placed into holding pot.....soil/coco/hydroton/perlite/vermeculite....whatever you are using for your hydro system

I have used these for about 10-15 years now
I have used them many times in my lettuce DWC and raft systems and never had a problem
but yes they are biodegardible
if you were planting in ground it would be broken down eventually....although I have ....when pulling up spent plants....at the base it still has it's plug
one of the other reasons I dont like RW....it isnt sustainable or biodegradable.....it will only be broken down if melted.....so for the surface of the earth to reach the level to hold magma are millions of years.....so basically it will always just be sitting here
yea there are extremeaphiles that eat rock but......just saying

you dont have to run the stone....or cover up the water.....I promise....shit will be dried up in like a day or 2.....with the stone it will just evaporate faster......

I was wondering that. Personally this isn't gonna help my humidity problem, but i needed desperately to get it out the table. I went and read about the rapid rooter, root riots, jiffy pellets,, even coco pellets.

he like set them in a half tray of water/ w seaweed or kelp, for 30 mins, then pulled the plugs out, put the seeds in the root riot plugs, poured the water out of the tray, and put the plugs back in, and didn't water for like 10 days.... 10 days??? Really? Under t5

yeah.....I soak mine in ro water.....and then put the seed in after it has poped its tail
and that is it
once the seedling pops out and puts out it's second set of leaves.....I put them in there next home
but that whole time....no water

with clones
I soak in ro
put the clone in it and close the dome
but with clones...I open the dome every day and spray the plants with ro
because the plants cant take in water because they have no roots so they take it up by leaf

all of those are good....except for the jiffy pellets
there is also another way
you can start seeds in vermeculite or perlite
