Hi All! As the guerrillas start heading for the fields this season; I want to share a compilation of countertracking information I've found. This is my NOOB post. Be sneaky! Be Green!

COUNTERTRACKING
1.**********While moving from close terrain to open terrain, walk past a big tree (30 cm**in diameter or larger) toward the open area for three to five paces.*Then walk backward to*the forward side of the tree and make a 90-degree*change of direction, passing the tree on*its forward side. Step carefully*and leave as*little sign as possible. If this is not the direction that you*want to go, change direction again about fifty meters away using the same technique. The purpose of this is to draw the tracker into the*open area where it is harder for him to track. That also exposes him and causes him to search the wrong area.
2.*When approaching a trail (about one hundred meters from it), change your direction of movement and approach it at a 45-degree angle. When arriving at the trail, move along it for about twenty to thirty meters. Leave several signs of your presence. Then walk backward along the trail to the point where you joined it. At that point, cross the trail and leave no sign of your leaving it. Then move about one hundred meters at an angle of 45 degrees, but this time on the other side of the trail and in the reverse of your approach. When changing direction back to your original line of march, the big tree technique is used to draw the tracker along the easier trail. You have, by changing direction before reaching the trail, indicated that the trail is*your*new line of march.
3.*To leave*a*false trail and to get a tracker to look in the wrong direction, walk backward over soft ground. Continue this deception for about twenty to thirty meters or until you are on hard ground. Use this technique when leaving a stream. To further confuse the tracker, use this technique several times before actually leaving the stream.
4.*When moving toward a stream, change direction about one hundred meters before reaching the stream and approach it at a 45-degree angle. Enter the stream and proceed down it for at least twenty to thirty meters. Then move back upstream and leave the stream in your initial direction. Changing direction before entering the stream may confuse the terrorist tracker. When he enters the stream, he should follow the false trail until the trail is lost. That will put him well away from you.
5.*When your direction of movement parallels a stream, use the stream to deceive a tracker. Some tactics that will help elude a tracker are as follows:
-*Stay in the stream for one hundred to two hundred meters.
-*Stay in the center of the stream and in deep water.
-*Watch for rocks or roots near the banks that are not covered with moss or vegetation and leave the stream at that point.
-*Walk out backward on soft ground.
-*Walk up a small, vegetation covered tributary and exit from it.
6. When being tracked the best bet is to outdistance the pursuer.
7. When moving into your grow site do a dog leg (sharp 90 degree turn) to enter your site. Double back and make tracks following your original line of travel past the grow site.
8. Take your time approaching the grow site. If possible scout it out with binoculars. If possible make a 360 degree surveillance of your grow site and observe for signs of disturbance or someone laying in wait. Be wary of game cameras.
9. Park your car a half mile away or one terrain feature away.

ANTI-TRACKING MEASURES
1. Detailed below are a number of points which should be taken into consideration:
a. Think when moving. Do not relax.
b. Do not become regular in habit.
c. Avoid the obvious.
d. Watch the nature of the country carefully and use types of ground which are difficult to track in.
e. Use weather to advantage, that is, move in rain.
f. Carry a stick with which to bend grass and branches back.
g. To increase deception, wear smooth-soled shoes which leave less distinctive prints, or wear socks over your shoes. Alternative - duct tape the sole of your shoes.
h. Wear shoes several size larger to deceive people of your actual shoe size.
i. Walk on the side of the foot when necessary as this leaves no heel or toe marks.
j. Try at every opportunity to walk on ground that is hard or rocky.
k. Double back, , walk backwards, split into groups, change boots.
l. Dogs can be thrown off course with ground pepper, cayenne pepper, curry, etc
m. Dogs can not trail you up or down a cliff.
n. Cross tracks, roads or streams by crossing in trees or on rocks. if this is not possible when crossing a wide sandy track or road, cross at one place, each man stepping carefully on the footprints of the leading man, thereby leaving only one set of prints.
o. Be careful with smokey fires, tobacco smell, soap in streams or rivers, bird and game alarms or insect or frog silences.
p. Do not be too tempted to use water as a line of movement, as this is where the enemy will probably search or look for signs of security forces in the area.
q. With a large party, where possible, avoid moving in single file as this will leave definite signs and a track. move in open formation instead.

Nice tips, I like to carry a long branch with foliage to brush footsteps.

Use Odorless Carbon Spray, it takes away the smell from your clothes. Some companies sell carbon detergents so you can completely wash your clothes in carbon.
