So I have successfully harvested my first 2 outdoor plants. Budwashed and hanged to dry in a dark basement room 19C and 55-60% RH with a slight indirect breeze for 7 days. When I trimmed the smallest of stems were snapping but the medium and bigger ones were only bending still.

I jarred the buds 3/4 full in mason jars and I get around 50 to 55% RH accross all my jars. So I guess I overdried a bit, my buds not dense so maybe I shouldnt have waited for stems to snap.

My question is, how do you go about curing bud that sits between 50 to 55% RH. Should I burp at all? If so how often? For 2 days now I've been opening them once a day for 30 minutes. I know stuff is still breaking down in there and I want flavor/aroma to develop.

Edit: The hygrometers I'm using are the small cheap rectangle ones from amazon. Could they be under reading? I ask this because stems are still bendy and the texture of the buds seem to be more on the moist side than dry.

It may take a few days for the humidity in the jars to rise. I don’t burp unless the humidity gets higher than 63. I use the same hygrometers. If the humidity doesn’t rise in a day or 2 then you probably overshot your cure window. I shoot for not burping at all. It’s hard to catch it at the perfect point where you can put it in the jar and it stays around 62.
