Hell yeah!! Long live the King...lol
I'm kinda a youngster, first cd I purchased was Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magic album. But I love music from many eras, Isn't it mindblowing to think that Elvis's hip shaking dance moves wowed and put many religious americans on edge...LOL
Especially when you look at today's pop music and the young girls they promote...

Damn great record, that one. That and Siamese Dream were my favorites from that year. Anywho, I just grew out Elvis & will post some more info on it shortly. It is reportedly Citral (or Chitral) x Skunk.

ELVIS is an ok strain. It yields good but its not OG quality. There is way better cuts IMO.

Hey winta:
I've never smoke the Elvis, atleast that I know of, but have finished a few diff D King females and should have cloned em and kept them going, they all had nice density, short profiles with super tasty, stanky nugs!
And you don't see it anywhere! Finally figured I better show off this last gal of it that I have alive, but this time I cloned her:pimp:

I can't wait to see how she ripens and does in the end, def gonna keep you all updated on this gal! If anyone else is growing the D King release the pics! LOL
I'm thinking that seed release of D King was limited to say the least, Glad I threw it in with my StarDawg, Double Underdog order back then...

amen. thrash to me.

Im sorry, but i usually keep to myself on these matters, but there is no way i am gonna sit by and watch people trash elvis.. it is one of the most unforgettable flavors and highs of many of the things out there... if you have hit the real deal.. you would know... back in the late 90's when it was comin out of NYC, and the mass super skunk was raging, this was out and about... def an east coast thing when it came out, and there is a reason it is called elvis... if you are calling it "trash" you have not seen the real deal..

its like me saying the wifi is garbage cause someone ran a bs cut of it ovah heah...

ain't tryin to start no drama, !respeten al rey, por fas! :passingjoint:

Thanks guys, looks like she is gonna take some time, I should have been plucking leaves this week but I've been busy and the back was aching...lol
Kinda overvegged these gals a tiny bit, but when you grow a room where every light is a diff kind or so it can present a more challenging veg and uneven canopies....
But when harvest comes I'm like a kid in a candy store with variety! I need better light for my pics too it seems, I turn off the hid's but only have a lil flouro in the corner and some other light peeking in from side...I noticed my Jack Herer pics are shinier due to the better lighting...lol

I can't wait to try this D King, regardless if it's a keeper or not I love diff flavors, and someone if not me will run the King again!!

What kind of leaf plucking are you refering to? Do you pinch off huge fan leaves after a certain point?

Nice plants and thank you for sharing this rare hybrid with us!

As you describe it, I also have a love hate relationship with stardawg as well.

Hey el boyo, I'm not exactly sure when I got them but has had to of been about 2.5 years or so.
I added them to the order since I had never really tried the Elvis and figured I'd get to them sometime...

Hello Snowblind: Yeah, depending on the genetics I start to pluck leaves that aren't getting light or the ones that are crowding neighboring plants too. Or the leaves that are twisted wrong way...Basically at a certain point I like to let light into all the lowers to promote density and quality to all the flowers. Some varieties have such thin or lack of big sun leaves that they don't need much attention in this regard but those plants like bubba kush or lavy or huge thick monkey ball type of fan leaves can def benefit from leaf removal. I like to do a little bit every day for a week or so, so that I don't stunt/or slow down any plant growth. More or less you gotta experiment with it, and see what happens as results are pretty varied.

But, overall all bud sites that get premium light tend to be shinier or heavier.
Only warning I would give is certain varieties can be adversely affected if big leaves get pulled off too early, and that is dependent on medium and feed style too with more variables...lol

We probably have experienced a similar Stardawg pheno...lol

Hound Dog pheno

Hello everyone,
This pheno is interesting for sure, she may not look as classy or sparkly as some of the other plants in this room but she smells something wonderful!!
I can't wait to smoke this stuff; she has a slight defeciency that only she is exhibiting, among other varieties in the same exact conditions.
It's hard to tweak the nutes much in a res when they feed diff kinds in the same tray...I was mainly doing what I know works on the jack, she needs it relatively mild and is finicky towards the end.
I had some other pics of her but a lot of them came out blurry due to my shaky self...lol
