My name is Dan. I am new here.
I have been growing Cannabis since my college days in the 1970's. Never on a consistent basis until ~4 yrs ago when NM legalized recreational. I moved to Taos, NM 5 1/2 yrs ago from New Orleans, LA. I started growing in soil and was mentored by a friend Glenn. Learned a lot from him he was a good guy and he had lots of common sense with soil cultivation. I have a bachelors degree in Biology and have grown prize winning roses as a teenager under the tutelage of my Parents who loved the beauty of roses. They(roses) are like children requiring lots of attention, feeding spraying, pruning and treatments.
Back to Cannabis.

After the first couple of harvests with soil I decided to go Hydroponic. Glenn was not prepared to go that route and he no longer helps and besides he moved back east to NC. He taught me a lot of good stuff. He showed me how to build a grow room. What to look for with the plants and how to spot and correct deficiencies. When to harvest drying curing etc.
Currently I have an 6" x 8' grow room. In it is a BATO bucket (Dutch Bucket) set up. Walls are covered in Panda film, 2 benches that are 12 " high in an L-shape configuration. benches are 8'x 2' and 4'x2' buckets are fed from PVC pipe from a reservoir outside of the room. I have used General Hydroponic Flora series as my nutrient system. the system pumps nutrients to the buckets once an hour for 15 min. My medium is a mixture of perlite and vermiculite 75% and 25% respectively. I use Mars Hydro LED lighting in Veg lights are on 24/7 after that I switch to Bloom (12hr on/12hr off) Parameters that I monitor in the grow room are: Temperature Range (68 - 86) degrees, Humidity (40-80%) CO2 (600-1200)ppm. I run an oscillating fan, inject CO2, I have the capability to Heat or Cool the room.
My last grow was harvested on the 1st of February this past year was my best yield yet. Eight plants yielded plants that were 4' tall and produced 1.3 kg of cured flower. the new lights made a world of difference. I hope to learn what to do with all that product.

Good looking grow area real clean setup. I'm a soil grower still but i know from watching hydro growers that it is the cleanest way to grow if you can keep the roots healthy and happy. PS my parents used to grow cymbidium orchids and stag horn ferns in the 50's thru the 70's in Cali.
