I am reading incredible claims of up to 4 lbs. per plant. How do these 2 systems compare ?

UC is easier, simpler, and scaleable.

Both seem to have exactly the same growth potential. Go with the under current if you want it simple and easy in comparison. If you just have to build a monstrosity, then go for DD's. Just be prepared for more potential problems. Only bad I've ever seen on the UC's was Jack's monster plants clogging up the 2" pipes. The new 3" pipes cure that if you got trees that big.
