Hello all!
Been awhile since I've posted a grow on the farm.I've learned a lot of valuable information on this site as when I first got here I had a few grows under my belt but were nothing compared to what I've done in the last few years.
I started growing with no information at all and pretty much did everything you're not supposed to do.I started with a small CFL grow,Phototron, some outdoor, and used a lot of miracle grow.Yes,that stuff... I actually managed to grow some smokable bud but nothing compared to what I was seeing others do.
I met some good people that pointed me in the right direction when I first got my 4x4 and an HPS.I also did a shit ton of reading and learning how to listen to my plants.
I'm getting better at this but there's always something new to learn. The best thing I ever did was to keep investing in my hobby as I went about it.This will be my first grow with my new setup and I have retired my old 4x4 to be used as the veg room.

My new setup:
4x8 tent from ipower.A damned good tent for a cheapo.
2xTimber Grow Lights-Redwood VS.
10-10gal pots-down to 7 after sexing.
Soil-Fox Farms Ocean Forest.
Strains-This is where it gets interesting.A friend gifted me some seed he had from his Uncle who has a grow op in Cali.He thought they may be herms but from what he was telling me it sounded like they had just gone late in flower.Long story short, there must have been a male in there at some point in time because I have pulled three males since sexing. The strains are Hard Candy and Sour Banana Sherbert.(Yes,I know running bagseed isn't appealing but I went with it.My next grow is going to be Candyland,Mama Mia,and Northern Soul I got from Seedsman.Put 7 in to pop and as of today 100% germinated and have been planted.)
Nutes-GH Flora series.
Ok,that about sums it up.The girls are now at 12 days into flower.I gave them their haircut early as it was getting too wild in there. If you're still reading at this point I hope you'll enjoy this grow journey as much as I anticipate I will.Welcome and enjoy!

On to the pictures!

For the next round.100% germ rate.

The veg tent before a good cleaning...

Nutes

Before haircut.

After.I went pretty hard and super cropped one girl as she was getting crazy.

Love these Timber lights. All the pics are with the dimmed down to 10% and still very bright.

Welcome back!

Nice setup! Plants look good!
I'm doing bag seed too. I'm sure lots of great strains come from bag seed. I understand the legendary OG Kush comes from bag seed. Also A lot of breeders use a technique that forces a female to produce pollen sacs, to create seeds! Bag seed save you the trouble/effort.
(I'm in no way a breeder. My respects to those who are)

Loven the lights! I've heard/read great things about 'em.

Looking forward to the grow

Hello Harp, thanks for the welcome back. ;)
I checked out your grow and it's looking great! From what I've heard there's been some fantastic phenos from bagseed. We work with what we have sometimes.I had always been gun shy about buying seeds online so I have been bartering with a friend that does get them.We lost touch a bit but I hope to get up with him this spring for a fishing trip and see what's shakin even though I did finally order online and knock on wood, they're looking good so far.
I gotta give it up for @sixstring as he pointed me in the right direction on the lights. He showed me the boards as well but Timber grow lights really caught my eye.I'm just a poor nobody scraping by so investing that kind of money was a big decision for me and a bit intimidating as well.So thankful for the people already killing it and willing to help a brother out when there are so many different choices.
Just have to add that Dan at Timber was great to deal with and when I'm spending $$,customer service is a really big deal for me.I can assure anyone interested in their products that they will have a great experience in that regard.

Man,it's rough on us folks who wear glasses and need eye protection in our rooms. I've ordered two sets of OTG shades now and both are too small... my big fucking head I guess. I finally gave up looking and opted for OTG ski goggles that'll be here Wednesday.400+UV protection on the lens, hopefully they'll work out until I can get some prescription method 7's.I thought about clip ons but it's just too much light exposure around the sides and top.

Congrats on getting a timber ! I love mine and it’s defintly convinced me to replace more double ended bulbs when I can afford it ( the quality and power shows , plus no replacement of bulbs , way less heat !)

Keep it up! Can’t wait to see the future pictures (Subscribed )

I contacted Method 7 about prescription glasses and they did reply. They don't do that at the moment but apparently it's coming! They did offer me a discount code which was generous of them.

Thank you for your interest in Method Seven optics. M7 GROW prescriptions are not yet available. We are in the research phase to integrate prescription options later in 2018. Still early in planning, we do not have a timeline established but at least another quarter is expected. Would you like to be added to the M7 GROW Rx notification list? While clip ons are not the most elegant solution, they are worth considering for temporary relief and color balance. If you do consider them, please reach out for a coupon code.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Alrighty, time for a weekly update.Still trying to dial in everything.I think I had the lights a bit too close so I raised them a bit.Another big problem when I started this grow was that all of the soil was just soaking wet. Those dang bags were freaking heavy and I used a 1.5cubic foot bag per pot. Some of the girls dried up the soil fairly well but I had a couple others that were really slow making use of all of the excess moisture. So some of them are showing a bit of stress from that and one major screw up I had earlier in the week.I was mixing nutrients when I got a call.It doesn't take much to derail my train these days and I accidentally double dosed the girls with bloom.I did add a gallon of water to each pot after I got done feeding just to kind of flush things a bit but it did stress them some.Stupid, stupid mistake... Anyway, they still seem to be doing well despite me trying to kill them.
Ok then,I guess that's about all I have for the update until next week. Thanks for dropping by and if you have any constructive advice or insight please feel free to share! The pics at 21 days from flip:

Thanks RHINObeast! I appreciate the compliment! I would have trained all of them more but I was just worried I'd have a bunch of trained hermies as the seed was questionable and may be still.Hoping for a good run but I'll be putting in quite a bit more time on the next run as I know what I'll be dealing with. ;)

Thanks CBDEMON! I'm really liking the new setup too.The extra room makes it nice.As far as the cobs, after talking with sixstring and Dan from Timber I opted for the 3000k spectrum as the 4x8 is primarily for flower.I know a lot of people are running the 3500k with great results I decided to go with the 3k.

Awesome man, it's cool to see all of the different setups people are running nowadays with so many more options available. I'm subbed and looking forward to the rest of the show:).

It all starts with a good veg man, that’s my main focus, but for the stoutness they look right

Nice set up DismalDude. That’s kinda the set up I’m looking at getting for my males, except I’m going with a gorilla tent.
