Defoliate yellowing leaves during flowering?

Do you guys defoliate the yellow leaves during flowering? At least the yellow or uglier leaves?

Yes I do but try not to get any past the bottom couple

I do remove the yellow limp leaf now on my outdoor plants. Happens fast during mid flower outdoors and cooler temps.

If you don't, they'll just shrivel up and turn brown and crispy. Sometimes they fall off on their own and sometimes they don't.

I always do but whether it's totally necessary I'm not so sure. They probably will just drop off. But I'm a little OCD.
