on another forum, the Relief Center reports:

Well, they back slid. Caregivers are going to be banned in Denver and cultivation is limited to card holders unless it gets voted down on the 25th. Nevitt was the only dissenting vote, although Linkhart hadn't arrived yet.

I spoke with Doug after the meeting and he's saying the community isn't reaching out to the council.

Anyone feel like sending a letter yet?

they are looking for patients in Denver to speak up!!

the city doesn't have the right to ban caregivers! do I call the relief center :sign0065: ? Where do cities get the idea that they have the power to do this? Why would a dispensary give a shit?

The communities have no power or right to ban your caregivership, but they will take the liberty.

I'm going to have beers with my lawyer tonight to discuss this, I'll report back.

if you or your patients are in Denver, call Relief.

Denver council thinks this is a non-issue because they aren't hearing from anyone.

(I'm not affiliated in any way)

the thread is in the colorado section on cannabis com

Just had a brief with my lawyer, he said communities think HB1284 gives them the right to regulate caregivers like MMC's. Well, it says CAREGIVER in AM20 not MMC. He's chomping at the bit to go to court over this one. This case is in the bag as far as he's concerned as the win will look good on his resume.

Grow for your 5 and PM me if you need a lawyer.

First they came for my right to sell, and I did not speak out --
Because I believed my rights were protected by an Amendment.

Then they came for the tax dollars, and I did not speak out --

Then they came for the monies in the MMJ fund, and I did not speak out --

Then they came for the caregivers who were in direct competiton with their little "dispensary" scheme -- and I spoke out but no one really heard me because the money dropping in the dispensary/DOH coffer was already too loud.

Then they came for my basic right to grow and and I got a MMJ lawyer and bought everyone in the house their own BIG MOTHERFUCKIN GUN and a coupla boxes of hollow points...

I've had the gun(s), just no reason to use. I don't care what kinda body armor you've got on, if you get hit with a magnum 12ga slug you're not getting up. Scrambled eggs..

I might have to go get that raging bull in a .454 casull that I've been eyeing...

I hope you're right.

I remember a whole bunch of lawyer big talk before 1284 passed, and so far, I'm not impressed. they've all crawled up matt cook's ass.

EDIT:

it seems as though the lawyers have lost interest in patients and caregivers, now that there is a business model to represent.

and sadly, pollenchucker, like the lawyers, many patients have lost interest in other patients....or should I say, have changed from looking at those patients as sick folks to looking at them as a profit model....just as the State has done.

yea, there are guys requiring patients to buy a certain amount, etc. it's an unfortunate result of legislation made for dispensaries instead of the people. I can see why it's happening, and it's sad. There used to be a legit path to sell overage, and people used that to pay the bills. now, the only ones left to pick up the tab are the patients.

I'm lucky. I don't need to break even. I grow because I believe in the herb, it solves medical issues for me pharms can't, and because I just fucken love to grow. If I didn't have a decent job and the freedom to do it this way (shit, anything can happen any time!) then I'd need to go much smaller and offer much less to my patients.. if I could even afford to keep them.

maybe that's not even what you were talking about! :RastaBong:

Anyone read the reg?

I saw it briefly when the lady proposed it, but didn't really think it would go anywhere.

Thought it was aimed specifically at residential grows.

The whole thing stinks.

If you don't believe in guns

You must have a bullet catcher, because guns are real and not believing in something that is real is......

So, the talk with my lawyer bud went well. His boss is representing one of the big cases going on right now, you know, the idiot on the news?

anyway, he said that a lynchpin needs to be established, something like "I'm a caregiver and I have a state right to exist in colorado", "I'm a patient and I have a state right to a caregiver". once this is established a civil case can be formed to require an injunction to try the caregiver ban in state court to see of the lynchpin holds weight. Well, it does. No one needs to get busted and no criminal case needs to arise to try this issue in court.

This is an issue of a municipality trying to rewrite the constitution through a local ordinance. It will easily be trumped in court.

If anyone in FOCO or denver wants to bring up the lynchpin, PM me and I have someone who wants to represent you.

GO CEEE-OHHHH!!!!!

Don't get pissed ON...get PISSED OFF!!!!
