My "caretakers" sent me some photos today. The plants look good but it sure is sad to not be there with them! The runt is still rather pathetic.

I left a few instructions but overall I did a lot of prep work before leaving; my new soil amendments experiment and the irrigation. It will be over a month still before I get home but currently things appear to be doing ok despite the onset of wicked summer heat there. I will be glad to get home though, I don't really like being away this long!

Try not to worry about them too much or your garden in general. I totally understand how you feel being gone from the homested for so long.

I feel ya, Thanksgiving is the only time I leave... The past 3 yrs growing. But, I took my harvest/curing buckets with me. Haha. Last yr my oldest daughter told me..."Mom there's no smoking pot in the" vacation rental property... I don't know the initials for that. Fine. Her hubby was outside w me everyone, lol.
It's cooled off, 103 and cloudy. No rain.
No surprises.
