I haven't done a full grow diary in a long time, so I figured what the hell, why not show off something I'm excited about
Destroyer x scotts og

I made these seeds earlier this year and getting them right into rotation to see if they impress.

Female is a selected cut of Destroyer I've run since about 2011, super psychedelic sativa with the head space that is increasingly hard to find. The Scott's OG male I selected came from the original release, great structure, and a wicked nasty, earthy garbage OG aroma

Destroyer
Destroyer x scotts og 2

Scotts OG male
Destroyer x scotts og 3

As always in my garden, they'll be raised in organic soil. Sit tight while they grow and I'll add more in a week or so. Cheers and thanks for looking.

What the flower time on your destroyer cut? I suspect your goals would be to keep the trippy psychedelic high of mom but cut 2-4 weeks off the flower time with your male selection?? Have you crossed this male out before or is this the maiden voyage? Anyways interesting cross and good luck with your hunt! I have recently just isolated a superb male specimen of a fire og bx from raskal that im super excited about. Stinks to high hell of og dankness. And looks a lot like your male, super tight internal spacing with excellent lateral branching.

Thanks for checking it out.

Depending on style of grow and lighting schedule it finishes between 12-16 weeks. IMO it's nearly impossible to retain the experience of a full sativa in hybrid, but I am hopeful both strains' potency will create some heavy hybrids. I'm quite curious to see how she hybridizes since this is the first cross I've made with Destroyer.

I also pollinated NL5, Legend OG and Ghost OG (all of which are currently in flower or about to flower) and also my selected Blockhead cut and my selected White x G13/HP. The OG hybrids came out great, exactly what I hoped for in terms of growth and expression, but too early yet to comment of potency.

Crossing to Destroyer is about seeing how wildly different genetic sets interact with one another. The OG crosses came out looking and smelling like a pure OG, so the destroyer cross should give me a better idea of what exactly the male brings to crosses.

Progressing nicely

Interestingly, when mixed to the NL5 and OG kush genetics this male behaves as a recessive input, but paired with the Destroyer, it seems more dominant, as there is not a single Thai structured phenotype in this first set of 12 seeds. One plant smells strongly of OG kush, the others smell pleasantly fruity, almost like mangoes.

Subbed bruh. Can't Wait to see the super destroyer leaning phenols. Should be a fun hunt.
At this point I hope Destroyer influence expresses, they're all very hybrid in growth expression.

Weekly update time, they're in veg state and growing nicely, healthy and happy like we train to maintain. Not much else to report. 31 days after being sown, they're beginning to show sex

I like to take cuts and trash the moms so I only have to run them (the clones) twice instead of 3 times to find the winners. Seed mom's can very greatly from clones in my experience. Good luck looking good so far man.

Plants are trucking along happily, will transplant and flower very soon. One plant in particular has my eye, Thai smell and hybrid structure leaning toward Thai...may be what I'm looking for, too soon to say for sure though.

Way past time for an update...

They're a month or so into flower, just in the last week they've begun smelling strongly with familiar Destroyer scents. They mostly don't resemble either parent at all, very hybrid in physical expression. Majority of them have killer resin coverage, a few have her sparse floral and resin production. I didn't take photos of all of them but I have a few from my favorites to show off. I flowered them at about 3ft tall, and they stopped stretching from 5'5" to 6'3"
Fastest finishing of the bunch, 20 inch cola on this one.

This one has an unfamiliar funk going on under the familiar Destroyer aroma, watching to see how it develops.
IMG 8764

Thickest, most dense floral production of all the phenos
IMG 8769

Plant on the right stands at six feet three inches, even with that gangster lean she has going on. Smells of pure metallic Thai, like blood or pennies and lemongrass
IMG 8754

I love the look of this one, almost looks pure sativa

Here's two lights of my 2010 Destroyer cut doing the damn thing. Freshly defoliated, but I still need to finish staking. Crazy to think it's going on 7 years since I first grew this cut.

Some of these are really starting to smell strong.
IMG 8824

This one just started smelling a bit putrid. Rubbing a sugar leaf leaves a nasty aroma of vomit or baby shit or something, along with the old-school sweet floral Thai haze aroma Destroyer is known for.

Starting to get good!

I love the vigor of seed plants so I always grow them out, but I've had similar experience with clone runs looking totally different. I feel like it's important to run any plant at least three times before one can honestly assess her potential

Looks good especially the sativa!
Thanks man, they're coming along quite nicely

They look really good. And the fact that you made those seeds makes it extra cool.
Thanks for the positive vibes. Take care

The first of these phenos is about to be harvested. It's the only one that's ready, the others have 2-3 weeks left, and one will likely go longer than that. This one looks good but has that boring Haze hybrid aroma that I've seen pop up with a lot of this type of cross, as if each side of the genetic mix only unlock certain combinations in each other. Anyway, it's one of 4 I'm going to run again soon to get more input
