Did my girl go hermi?

Some people are too quick to say "Chop it! KILL IT! BURN IT TO THE GROUND", but 99% of the time that's not necessary. Even "hermied" weed can still be really good, and I'm willing to bet anyone who's bought street weed has smoked exactly that a few times and never knew about it.
the plant in question was showing hermaphroditic traits very early on, would you have seriously kept it bro honestly at what cost tho
yes we use to have to smoke what was available but try to put that shit in the past my brother a new day looms

Hermie...Yes, but I doubt it has anything to do with training. 99% of the time it's genetic.
It's so early to show I'd kill it. A few bananas very late and near harvest is no biggie but nads and cotton balls = trash crop
Hey, I got a question. If I pollinate my female plant with a meal plan, will it be a male or will it become a hermaphrodite? The reason why am asking is I am trying to create a new strain to get some seeds

Male plant*

I'm not sure about a cross with another plant but when a hermi pollinates itself the resulting seeds will be feminized with a strong chance of being hermie too

My sativa dom showed balls first week into flower. I just picked them off and kept going. It never grew male flowers, so I kept on growing it. Smoked really well. Bananas showed up 3 weeks before harvest too. Still a good, smooth smoke with zero seeds.

And what do you mean at what cost? You’re willing to throw away $$ spent on a feminized plant that grew a ball sack? It may not be top of the line smoke, but it’s still gonna get ya high.

this is not the norm tho. happy it worked for you

Based on what? Personal experience? The handful of growers I know have similar experiences that I had. They’re the ones who convinced me to keep her as I was going to listen to folks saying to get rid of it.

Keep in mind, people who have bad experiences are typically way more vocal than those who have good experiences.

I’m asking what will happen to my female if I pollinate her with a male? What will she become? Male or a herm? And will it produce seeds?

if only been growing for the longest part of my life and never let a hermie grow out never so its not on my experience but of mentors that i trusted when i started
the at what cost i was referring to is missing single ball and letting your fan spread its pollen over a perfectly ready to recieve budding female next to it. i would just avoid

she will become pollinated and start growing seeds yes. she will not turn herm or gender due to being pollinated no.

her children however could turn herm if the donated pollen comes from a herm
another reason to remove them from the genepool

I think herm seeds are like 80 percent chance of female gender. I’m trying to create a new strain and get a bunch of seeds in the process. I’m thinking the pollinated female will not have as many seeds as pollen sacs on a male though??

That’s called the “appeal to authority fallacy”. If you don’t have experience with it, why blindly repeat what someone else says? Just because a mentor says it, doesn’t make it true. Should we believe Clinton when he said he didn’t inhale because he was President? 😛

And you’re right, there are risks if you don’t catch every ball. You also run the same risks from balls that grow behind the buds and out of sight - so you can have a hermie and not know it before it’s way too late.

I’m also skeptical about it pollinating everything in a tent unless you have quite a fan setup, if you’re actively removing the balls and miss 1 or 2.

Seeds are expensive. So that’s my goal and I’m trying to figure the best way to get seeds?

she will have as many seeds as calyxes were fertilized'
edit: if your goal is seeds you need no male bro you can create your own feminized seeds easy

Harvesting your own pollen is the best way and then pollinating an isolated plant, or a single branch of a plant, and typically a top bud so it has the light and health needed to make the seeds.

Since you typically want to pollinate the top flowers, this is where you want to keep it out of the tent for a bit since the fans could blow that pollen off and have it fall on lower branches and plants.

it will pollinate every single calyx pollen touches, its how it works

I’m aware of that. I’m skeptical that it will have a far reach in a tent with a pair of 6” fans blowing under the canopy or blowing down on top, on a pollen sack that isn’t in sight.

It's so early I would pull it. I had a hermie on my last grow but it was already in week 4/5 so i let it ride.

When you see them really early like yours, it's not going to produce much as it will be spending a good part of its resources on making seeds.
