We had chipped cable boxes (black boxes) that we'd pay a C-note ea from installers. They only worked for non-premium channels but that was still dozens of decent stations. When Comcast bought out Sacramento cable they went digital and all the black boxes were bricked.

Yeah I remember those days. You could sometimes install a filter that would add channels to your service also. Good times.

Yup, I forgot to mention the inline filters that blocked remote control.

Sh*t, you remember when premium channels/packages were jumpered at the service box?

Yeah lol. I actually went and trained with a cable installer and that’s one of the first things they taught us. How to add or remove premium channels. Back when you had to do everything manually.

I kinda miss those days. Back when people would interact with each other and there were few electronic distractions. Kids nowadays are so missing out.

Remember when kids played video games instead of watching others play them on YouTube or twitch? Kids these days don’t even get into tv shows. They just watch videos online of others making fun of shit. I just don’t get it. Oh well guess I’m getting old.

Me too brother. I'm glad I got to experience a time before smart tech. When people didn't always answer the phone (because they weren't home, haha) and didn't walk around with persistent nagging devices in their pockets. I was less stressed back then. The world was much bigger, and my little corner of it was much much smaller.

Remember when, if you didn't know something, then you just had to live with it or if you were lucky there was a newer than a quarter century old book in the library about it. Hahaha. It's crazy, I can find out anything I want in seconds nowadays. When I was a kid everyone thought I was smart because I knew a lot from reading books. Now, everyone is smart.

I'm still glad i lived long enough to have my own VR system. My Rift totally rocks. Its gonna be a trip when everyone has them soon. Oculus just came out with equipment that no longer needs a computer to run near full power games. ...and it's mobile!

I’ve got psvr and it makes me sick on some games. Was excited to get it and it is cool but the games I want to play seem to not agree with me. I was sick for three days the last time I played it. Ahh well.

I love technology and I love where it’s going. However I feel like some don’t quite get it. Games used to be a way we could participate when we didn’t have the physical ability to participate. To act out fantasies and create our own realities. Folks used to watch movies and to me that’s lazy. Why just be a witness to someone else’s reality? Make your own reality. But that’s why I don’t get why anyone cares to watch people play games. I mean grab a controller and participate yourself. That’s why we have them.

Technology allows us to access information and things never before possible. If someone asked you a question would you go watch a video of someone else looking up the answer or would you take to google and just look it up yourself?

Technology is made for engagement and that’s where some are missing the point. Enjoy it, take part in it and have fun with it. But don’t just sit on the sidelines and watch others do it. Get in the game, make a name for yourself and help move society into the future.

Don’t get me wrong. Even I love a super quick MARIO speed run or witnessing things I could never do. But there’s very few of those and mostly just people playing and bullshitting with one another. It’s just odd imo.

No replica. I bought it from a crack head driving by my house when I lived in the burbs. Funny, dude pulls up says “you wanna by a cannon”. It was in pieces in his trunk. I traded 20 grams of shatter for it. Lmfao!

Novelty item, the end of the cannon is resesed sos you can’t shoot anything out of it. But a mortar tube fits perfect:)
