Difference between QWISO and AHO?

So I want to make oil like Texas Kid does in this thread:

But I'm a little confused. Is the only difference between making AHO and QWISO the speed of evaporation? Recipes for QWISO say to let the alcohol evaporate whereas AHO recipes say to cook it off. Is this the only difference that yields such different products (liquid vs. solid)?

Is the difference purity of solvent? AHO threads seem to be talking about exclusively using 100% ethanol or isopropyl whereas QWISO threads seem to be okay with using any (lesser) purity of iso. Is this it?

I'm very excited to try making some of this oil but I want to make sure at the end of the day I'm not left with QWISO hash. I've had QWISO, not to knock it, but I'd rather have AHO.

Thanks :)
