Deal.....asap and I know what seeds and pretty much everything on environment other then how the season will effect everything because I vent.....um, more then likely once we start I'll be running seeds only with a slight chance of a few select clones if blessed with but I'm not getting my hopes up because we know life is but I've been blessed with gifted seed and testers from fellow farmers so I'm excited about that and of course running some GLR beans.....
So have you read on GLR veg? https://www.thcfarmer.com/community/threads/the-gas-lantern-techinique.51497/page-15. @FlyinJStable
thanks for the kind words, your definitely one of the dankest kind of kind farmer, Id love to hear about your schooling and whatever other interests.

Grow Bigger and Better saving 30-50% on your energy cost!
I ripped this from another site- Just curious of what your opinion is on this light schedule

-How to reduce the cost of growing cannabis saving 30-50% on your electricty bill using the 12-1 lighting schedule.

The biggest innovator in the history of cannabis in my generation is Reinhard Delp. Not only did he invent and is the holder of the patent for ice water extraction, he has been building flower forcers since 1992. His new solar powered Sun-gate is the leader of the industry. He was the first to feminize seeds and sell them in Europe in the late 90’s. His process was done naturally, without the use of any chemicals.

No one is more copied but seldom matched than Mr. Delp, who to me is the top grower of our generation. The first time he impressed me he showed me 2 plants, planted next to one another, 1 completely covered in powdery mildew, the other completely clean and beautiful. He was developing mildew and mold resistant genetics.

In the late 90’s Reinhard brought back the gas lantern routine that you find in any college grade horticulture book, and applied it to cannabis. Cannabis needs only 13 hours to stay in the vegetative growth stage. The 18-6 lighting schedule in vegetation, actually stress your plants, that never get that much light in one-day outdoors. Cannabis is an outdoor plant. Growing indoors you should copy how it grows outdoors. No Cannabis growing in Afghanistan gets 18 hours of light in growth pattern. Most strains today have some part Indica in their genetic pool. Even equatorial strains don’t get 18 hours of sun a day.

The 12-1 lighting schedule is as follows 12 hours lights on, 5.5 lights off, 1-hour lights on, 5.5 lights off, and repeat schedule. The 1 hour on in between off period fools the plants that stay in vegetative growth state! Your immediate savings are 5 hours in energy costs daily, as well as your bulbs and equipment lasting longer. But how do the plants react to this lighting schedule?

You see immediate growth response from your plants, they are happy from the added rest time. By day 14 the plants tripled in size. The plants are bushy with twice as many bud sites without topping or bending, In fact when you top and stretch your plants out, you get many more bud sites than you would have had under 18-6 using same procedure of topping and stretching plant, your growing bigger and better and faster.

So your saving 5 hours daily in energy costs, as well as your excellerated growth pattern which also saves you time and energy and equipment use.

In the flowering stage, never use 12-12, start your flowering period at 11 hours on 13 hours off. When your are growing outdoors each day you get less and less sun light, you should copy the way the sun acts naturally in your indoor grow. So first 2 weeks of flower you go 11 on 13 off, the next 2 weeks you go down to 10.5 on 13.5 off, next 2 weeks 10 on 14 off, next two weeks 9.5 on 14.5 off and the last weeks of flower you should be at 9 hours on and 15 hours off. You’ll get bigger and better buds by copying the way the sun light works on cannabis outdoors.

Cannabis is an outdoor plant and you should copy the way it grows outdoors indoors. The only thing that 18-6, and then 12-12 lighting schedule's do is make the energy companies rich as well as the people who sell lights and equipment, the more you use the more you spend. 12-1 lighting schedule is a more natural way to grow indoors and you well have the best results you have ever had and save as much as 50% in energy costs.

I start and finish with 10/14 for indoor perpetual flowering and 14/10 for looking for outdoor early finishers

never settle and go for the grow I was hoping you had some more input on when you were starting your next run I would really like to hit the flower room same time as you do with a larger control and document the same plants again yeti #10 in clone 9 up on a 4x4 what ya think?

Is that one up front yeti or moondawg ? It's got some of the best calyx to ratio I've seen here for yeti I have a few ideas I want to add for my next run

Yeti f3 #8 far left One single clipping straight up is My second Clone set I have ever done I reduced the Feeding of Nitrogen by adjusting the NPK of Jacks 5-12-26/Calcium Nitrate 15-0-0-
by dropping the 15-0-0 to half as much and giving the light cycle that you describe I end up with this at 28 days
instead of way stretchy like in 2nd pic.
both are clones from same mother

Thanks for the Positives feedback @caveman4.20

I have tried 11/13 and 10/14 for a full cycle and all I got was more stretch or node spacing.i do run mostly indy dom strains but even the 1 sat dom I had during those runs was much taller than normal.with my 600w setup I think there is a point after 5 feet you lose production. But this veg cycle of 12 on 1 off ect does not seem normal and imo would seem to be more stressful to the plants than 18/6. I always wanted to try 16/8 in veg but just never did it lol.def some interesting concepts on lighting, but I would think by now folks would have caught on and everyone would be doing it?thanks for posting this cm, im going to look into this mr delp :)

@sixstring respectable experience. I know your interested, theres only a few people left trying to convince me to go back to what I'm referring to as traditional indoor veg (18/6) and when I go back to growing I will use the GLR for veg and 10/14 for perpetual flowering.

This is the best routine for my wants and needs to accomplish my goals.
I may have implied somewhere, in some thread, in a stoned stupor that, gas lantern routine is the best and I apologize. I mean to express that this is the best for me.

I do offer it as a solution to some scenarios but never to a cash cropper max yielder.

As far as people catching on, I think they or we do catch on and catch off in cycles.

And everyone doing it um not sure but I'm getting familiar with people who've tried it for various lengths of time and abandon it, also with people who won't try it all, and with those who smash on it with out experience with the schedules.

@sixstring by no means am I offended and I hope I don't read defensive. I'm a fan of your threads and results and very much appreciate your interest and sharings on these unorthodox or non traditional indoor light schedules.

Peace And Land race greaze

Which one of those pics were flowered in less then 12 hrs light or were both 12/12?

i guess i should of added i wish more people would try these dif light schedules so we could see more results.im sure sativa dom strains would benefit more than most the stuff i run.but i am doing some DD haze testers now so maybe a change is a comin :)

Great point , I'm doing my best to recruit testers but it's a touchy subject and understand ably so .....please feel free to share here any and all experience with the shorter flower ing period even undesireable results.......this will all work itself out eventually and these test may be able to help the community

Which one of those pics were flowered in less then 12 hrs light or were both 12/12?
I started the 1st clones with reg 12/12 but 15 days later did the change to 11/13 then added the lights for Far red and CFL with my HPS 1k the 2nd set of clones were at flower 11/13 from the start with the FR cfl lights added....
I am playing just for a few close Veteran buddies and a bit for myself so my grow is not so dependent on yielding huge, more over We all share a passion to grow the best we can......
I am so New at this so....
I am just trying what I see working for me..... I may not always work out but It fun to be outside the Box
Super Great Green Vibes to ya all
