The plants are feeding and sucking back water fast. The little ones in croutons are growing already too. Much shorter lag compared to Hugo's.

Ill do a prune tonight, then a last tidy up a week into flower before I net them.View attachment 914625

Excited to watch the stretch. Always my favorite part. Love the ostrich method, one of my favorites... When in doubt stick head in sand and pretend nothing is wrong lmao.... Works for me use it all the time

Getting it dialed in. Ec is holding steady between irrigation cycles at 1.2 in the blocks, and ph is drifting from 5.7-6.1 between cycles.

I need to get a pruning done soon though. I'll be flipping these in a couple days.

Thanks, I feel like I'm getting the hang of it. Funny to see how apparent the slow veg on the Bubba kush is. Even in hydro... This thing goes so slow in veg its brutal. lol. Its the second row from the left. Obviously.

It's always been like this. On my last grow I only had 1 BK plant so I hardly noticed it. When it makes up 25% of the crop though you can really see how it holds back the yield potential. It's so very worth it though.

Thanks man. Yeah they were transplanted into the Hugo's exactly 3 weeks ago yesterday. I can only imagine how nice they would be now if I had started with healthier cuttings at the start. These were the sickliest most hurtin looking cuttings I've started with in a long time.

This was transplant day, Nov 5th.

That's whats up. Knew it wouldn't take you too long to kind of get the feel for them. You are off the the races for sure.

Thanks man. The first week was a bit rocky but they pulled out of it just fine. Very excited to see how the flowering period goes now.

Also gotta say, I appreciate the nudge in this direction as well as the continued support. Im so far really liking growing in rockwool, It's so much easier to figure out what to feed it on the next watering cycle. Ec dropping? increase the food. EC rising? Reduce the food. PH too high? drop the ph.. I mean it sounds so simple but compared to promix or anything that has a CEC and buffers, it's dead simple..
It just adds bit more science to the art of growing pot.

The worst part is knowing I could have taken this step over a decade ago and didnt. I dont know what i was afraid of... "Hydro" just always had this sense of mystique and complexity to it, just enough to make me feel like it must be more difficult or more work. But this style of hydroponics is right up my alley. Obviously the grow isnt over yet, I'm sure there will be more surprises but up to this point anyway, I'm sold on this shit. I cant see myself ever going back to promix.

For sure. I really enjoy the control. Lets me only blame myself when something doesn't go the way I want. Also takes all the unknown variables out of it. Nothing I hate more then not knowing how to fix a problem or what is causing it.

Honestly the hiccup in the first week is nothing compared to what I've seen other people go through. Shows them grow skills. From all your previous posts I fig it would be a perfect fit for the way you approach growing. My first couple of run that were so-so were hitting the yield and qual of my coco rooms previously. After my first 2 runs I said the same thing. Even all the years I was running ebb tables I never ran wool. Had that same "why wtf" moment after that first 2. Only reason I switched back to coco was cost. I got to go even cheaper. I def wasnt at the level I was previously running coco so decided to give it another whirl. If I was running less plants I would still be on wool in a heartbeat. Supply is a big thing here. Always took a backseat to the big warehouses so sometimes when I needed a case or 2 I couldn't get it. That wasn't kosher for a habitual slacker like myself. Keep killin it man. Make them warehouse buddies jelly.

Can't wait to see how enjoyable it is after you chop your first room and everything is pretty clean still and you have 1 trashbag to clean the whole room. I think I loved the trash and clean floors part the best haha.

First pruning is done, I'm doing things a bit more aggressively than I normally do. Im trying the pruning method my warehouse friend uses where every node except the growing tip of the branch is removed before flower, and again 5 days after initiating 12/12. At that stage the lower 3rd or so of the fan leaves will also go. The plants were topped to allow 8-10 main branches each.

The idea with this pruning method is to only keep the bud sites that develop during the 3 week stretch. Basically all I'm growing is top branches, no secondary branching before the stretch whatsoever. First row of trellis will go on next week and I'll spread the branches out through them scrog style, then a week later I'll put up the second support trellis.

Little clones are up and putting out new growth too. A couple more days and I'll flip the switch here. Pretty happy with the size all these girls attained before I'm forced to initiate flowering.
