I like the idea of using these 3" blocks on unislabs vs using the big hugo blocks. I understand why commercially it makes more sense to use a hugo, less transplanting and cheaper by a bit. But I like this better. After only a couple days I have roots dumping out the bottom and feeding daily.

Probably veg these out for another week or 2 in the 3" block before putting on the unislab. I'll veg for another week on the slab before I flip to flower.

Alright.. gonna shift gears for a min. Can't share many pics of plants for reasons, but I'll be able to soon. In the meantime thought I'd share a cool toy I picked up today for work.

Imagine having an 80cc dirtbike strapped to your back that was capable of producing hurricane force winds.. meet the Echo 9010T.

This bad ass backpack blower cranks out an eye watering 1110cfm at 220mph. It'll peel the roof off the doghouse and blow the trampoline Into the next yard over. As far as I can tell, it's the most powerful backpack blower to ever exist. And since bringing it home I havent stopped smiling. I'm a massive sucker for outdoor power equipment and this item here just tickles my berries.

Gearing up for a winning season in commercial landscape maintenance. It's taking up a lot of my time lately and as a result I've been lurking more than participating. But that'll change soon.

Check this out, stacked up against the next best in class blowers. 48 newton's of force lol. Whew thats blowin hard.

And just listen to the 9010 at idle when he gives it the little blips of throttle... braaapppp! Sounds just like a dirtbike. Love this thing.

Those are decent blowers, nice and light compared to the 9010. But ill admit im not a fan of stihl really anymore, other than chainsaws, they still make a decent 2 stroke chainsaw. I used them for weedeaters and blowers for 15 years or so but the last 4 or 5 years I've had a lot of issues with crank bearings and the valves on the confounded 4-mix engines. One of the reasons I'm such a big fan of echo is their commitment to using true 2 strokes. Not to mention the Insane power they deliver.
Iirc the BR600 is about 600 or 700cfm. A major beast for a homeowner and great light blower for commercial. But when you need the whole lawn worth of leaves moved ASAP im a big fan of the Redmax and Echo blowers. This one ill use at idle for most stuff through the summer or just grab a handheld blower for smaller stuff.
The Stihl BR800 magnum is a decent blower too, but still nowhere close to the force coming out of these high volume echos Like the 8010 or 9010

Nearly time to introduce the Unislab. Looking nice and healthy, been just pre-vegging under T5 up till now, and feed has been kept to 0.8ec, 5.8ph.
Once in the slab I'll put up a MH and increase feed rate to 1ec.

Both blow air at roughly the same velocity, but the 9010 blows about twice the volume of air compared to the 580. Pb580T is 510 cfm, the PB9010T is 1110 cfm.

The PB 580 is a great blower too. I've had it and the 755 and liked them both. But nothing else on the market comes close to the power of the 9010.

Well, today was my last official day at my job, a place I worked for the past 13 years, I left early and spent the day working for myself. Felt pretty amazing.

Having a couple beers to celebrate tonight with some good tunes. Here is to 13 years in the trenches, and many more as my own boss with my own business.

Now playing
