By default, iPhone and other smartphones "geotag" each photo with the GPS location where picture was taken. Farmers have been warned about this before.

Here are step-by-step instructions for disabling geo-tagging on iphone, blackberry, android and palm:


iPhone users may want to upgrade phone to 4.x software since it allows geotagging to be disabled without disabling all other location-based services (this control was not available in previous software releases).

If you have pics you already took with the geo-tagging enabled, you can erase metadata from the pics to get rid of the embedded geo-tags.
