The wattage output of your light and space of LEDs to each other is a big factor to intensity. I’m running a new light this time and I err on the side of caution. Too intense can bring on many bad side affects. You can always kick it up but when you toast the tops it’s over, that damage usually won’t repair in time. Same for nutrients and water, less is better.

I was wondering same thing as I'm new with LED. I'll follow that thread.

Ok cool. My light is 14” from plants. None are “burned” that I can see. All are medium green and they just seem to be slow or not growing. Haven’t used any nutrients at this point. When is a good time to use your first nutrients? I am a newbie but want to succeed. Thanks man!

Without a par meter it's going to he almost impossible to give you an accurate number but I would start by raising it somewhere between the ballpark of 20-24 inches. I'm assuming you're still in veg? Pics would help a lot

Personally im going to try 18" from canopy my next run because I fried a bunch of tops and leaves since I maxed light height last run and was getting burnt at 15" a bit still.
Experiment with it, try 15" and watch closely for signs of light/heat stress. If so, then raise em up a lil bit more

Ohh yea for a baby I would keep the light farther for sure, I think some companies recommend like 24" light height or more for seedlings

Lmao same here bud! ppfd = photosynthetic photon flux density, the intensity gets spread out more the higher you go.

For seedlings you want to stay between 150-300 early veg 200-400 late veg 400ish and when it flowers you'll want to taper up to 600-800 during peak flower times. These are just general guidelines as every strain is different start with those ranges and play with it until your plant looks happy. The numbers I gave you are without co2 supplementarion

Your light is way too close

Download a Lux meter app on ur phone and follow this, make adjustments as needed.

Clones and seedlings: 2,000–7,000 lux
Early Veg: 7000-15000
Vegetative growth: 15,000–30,000 lux
Flowering: 45,000–75000 lux this really depends on the quality of your light, diodes etc...

depending on the light, 3500k, 4k etc..

lets say your light is 3500k color temp, and your lux reading is 60k, divide that by 64 to get an estimated ppfd

Yep, download the lux meter, it's free. There's a link to it here, somewhere.
