24 hours under the new light, and the plants have grown 1-1/2" already, the stems are losing their purple hue and the leaves are turning a nice shade of green again. What a world of difference!

There is definitely some missing spectrum on the GalaxyHydro/Roleandro COB. They did okay early in veg, but lacked something else besides intensity.

yeah, COBs are definitely worth the money. You are already noticing the difference between inexpensive LEDS and COBs, and you'll understand why @sixstring gets so frustrated arguing with people that insist that the inexpensive amazon LED panels work just as good as COBs. };-)

3590 versus 3070, which is better? I have a tent of 120 * 120 * 200. I need some cob to make. How many w is the best?

I have a tent of 120 * 120 * 200.
Thats a 48"x48" x 80" tent is (16 sq.ft. x 35-50 watt) = 560-800 watt total output for that area.
I haven't looked at Cree COBs, but you'll need 2-3 drivers to run that much wattage.
Two of these drivers would run 8-36 v COBs at 2.1 amp
Mean Well HLG-320H-C2100B
Output Voltage (DC) : 76-152V (~2-4 X 36V COBs )
Max Output Current : 2100mA

Examples ...36v Cree @ 1.4 a=50 watts, so you would need 11 minimum
or 36vCree @2.1 a= 75 watts , 8 minimum
or 36v Cree @1.75 a =63 watt, 9 minimum
Higher voltage COBs will put out more light, and reduce how many components you need, but you will need more/ larger drivers to power it.
Secondly, you need overhead space for hotter brighter units, and mount the drivers outside the grow area to reduce heat as well. Those drivers will put out as much heat as a COB.

[QUOTE =“1816 House,post:1981067,member:85578”]这是一个48“x48”x 80“帐篷(16平方英尺x 35-50瓦)= 560-800瓦的总产量。
我没有看过Cree COB,但是你需要2-3个驱动程序才能运行这么多的瓦数。
其中两个驱动程序将在2.1安培下运行8-36 v COB
平均井HLG-320H-C2100B
输出电压(DC):76-152V(〜2-4 X 36V COB)

[/ QUOTE]
So, what's the size of a tent like mine, how much of a cob is needed, and how many w is the light source, 3590 or 3070?

That's all Chinese to me, but that was your answer, except what kind of COB you want. I can't help you there.
You need 560 to 800 watts for a 120*120*200 tent, 8 COBs running 75 watts( 600 watts), 2 drivers running 2.1 amp as a minimum.

谢谢您的回答。这对我来说非常有用。你怎么知道我是中国人?

"Thank you for your answer. It's very useful for me. How do you know that I am a Chinese person?"
I can tell Chinese characters from Korean characters, that's all.
I also like to rock to Chinese punk rock bands, Like Gum Bleed( 胶出血), The Noname (無名), Hell City (地狱城)

"These are my two auto, buds feel very small, or growing."
Nice grow, keep it up .

So, I got 4-6 inches of new growth now, apparently plants like the new light. They needed a huge shot of nitrogen when all the new growth started, now they are settling down to make buds and starting to fill out.

I'm also doing a single Cob light that is going in the grow, but hopefully I'll be able to use it upstairs if it passes the wife test. This is the h4ppySix Micro Light, a single lung 50w unit, that should get me to 40w/sq ft in this tent.
I salvaged the Cob that I screwed up on, so I made another box, drilled a 3" hole to mount it, added a switch and cord. Also added a heat sink to mount the driver on. In a small 2x4 tent, the heat from the drivers isn't too bad, but for anything over 200+watt output, definitely get the driver out of the grow area.

Added a small heatsink to the h4appySix Mini driver also. No heat issues, just better dissipation overall.
The aluminum diamond-plate was doing its job , passive cooling , but that small piece pulled 5 deg.F off the bottom of the plate, and put 8-10 deg F on top, where it is shed instead of radiating downward.

Heat sink and driver installed.
Cob and 135 deg reflector on, and...nothing!:opps:
I tested that damaged COB 3 x, dammit!...I'll troubleshoot later, :fire:

The ring for the reflector pushed off the wire patch, up and running.
The 135 deg. reflector seems to diffuse pretty well.

Hello smart people! I was hoping someone would be kind enough to share some expertise with me. I found this thread searching for indoor grow lights. I grow a different kind of plant though - miracle berry tree. This is a small tree (currently 3 ft tall, 1.5 ft wide) that produces a small red berry. When you chew the fruit of the berry it makes sour/bitter food taste sweet while the effect lasts. Good for entertainment as well as people going through chemo (helps them enjoy/tolerate food again). Anyway, this tree is from Africa, so when it gets cold outside I need to bring it in and I'd like a light setup where I can get it to thrive and fruit indoors during winter. Would anyone be willing to share their expertise with me and suggest what kind of lights might make sense for this application?
Thank you!

I got another COB with a heatsink and a potentiometer.
Old frame is stripped, new frame is cut, and new wiring harness is put in. ( I hated the solid 16ga, it was like bending rebar.
Light is up and running.

Week 3 of COB's. Now I have:
200 watt/4 COB Bridgelux 3000k 90 CRI
120 watt/2 COB Roleandro Light Blurple
50 watt/ 1 COB Bridgelux 3000k 90 CRI
370 watt/8sq. ft = 46.26 w/sq.ft
