Does this look like thrips damage?

I’m thinking about letting my soil dry out a day longer than usual and then watering as normal with calmag, if I see a reduction in the leaf browning I’ll assume it was either overwatering calcium deficiency or both.

You won’t see a reduction, you’ll see only that it stops progressing. Those leafs are not going to get better looking and there should be little to no new foliage growing. You are only growing flowers now.
