how about PENELOPE? she wasnt quite a widow but thought she was after so long without
Odysseus' return. then when he did return she (actually her contest) laid them down.

get it not quite a widow but it isnt either. and she laid evryone down for the count:D maybe im way too high and just got excited over mythology.

Me, too, because of my mother. She named all the horses she bred after characters in mythology, mostly Greek. For example, we had Electra, and her colt was Zeus (I've still got a scar over my left eyebrow from when he struck me in the face, the little shit. Then he was sent away to be cowboyed and came back the best reining horse I'd ever sat) and another very sweet, but stupid colt was Atlas.

So, you ever read any Joseph Campbell?

Who says I'm not dain bramaged? :p

Joseph Campbell was a... a philosopher I suppose. He studied many religions and philosophies and myths, and brought them together. A devout Catholic, he drew the lines that connect us all. I believe what really started him down that path was his time spent with John Steinbeck and Ed Ricketts, along with reading some Carl Jung (The Collective Unconscious). He did a fantastic series of interviews some decades ago with Bill Moyers, and wrote several books, two of which were required reading for my college mythology class, and the most memorable being The Hero's Journey. Really good, chewy stuff.

not much of his have i truly read. but do remember the special you speak of. i think it was PBS special. he was philosopher of sorts IMO. i think ill go look up some writings he published. wow im not such a nerd. well at least a nerd who is alone being a nerd;)
i was turned on to greek mythology mainly because of my 4th grade teacher who was a nut about that type of thing. i mean he lived and breathed it. every instance could be compared to or relate to some form of it. we dove into many forms of mythology but greek stuck with me and i love it.

Hiya Medusa.. looking great in here.

Just an observation, and I could be wrong…. but i think that White your running looks to be an S1 or maybe a hyb?

I've been growing the original for many years now, and my leaves are slightly thinner and the buds are less spear shaped.

Again, just an observation…. regardless, you did those ladies proper!
Beautiful Work!

You never know what a breeder says ..bought seeds and said they were WWidow 6 yrs ago amsterdam seeds ..would think they would all be hybrids by now? the widow has been around along time hard to say on the real one ... all I can do is take there word for it.. Where did yours come from? Of course it is a mix of a land race sativa so perhaps yours is more sativa dom then this one .Considering the widow is a good 20 yrs old from when it was started. love to see a pic of yours! Thanks M
