So, I just harvested my first outdoor (greenhouse) plant, dried it, trimmed it and just put it in the jar 48 hours ago a bit too dry. In the jar I’ve been at 55ish+ RH% for the past day and I’ve been pulling it out to the humid air to try to bump that up a bit. This was my first experimental plant to learn my greenhouse. I’ve punished this thing, so the yield was only about 0.5oz. The bud looks and smells beautiful. I have a couple ounces coming soon right behind it of a sister plant (same seed lot). She’ll be harvested in 2ish weeks I think.

Unfortunately I just learned washing bud is a thing for outdoor growers. Not I thing I’ve read in any book or article. Is this really a thing? I definitely have had fungus gnats, beetles, and spider in my greenhouse. No bugs or obvious contamination seen on the harvested bud though. Did I totally mess up by not washing? Can I do it now, maybe gently in a strainer and big pot? What would you do?

washing should come first after harvest. It’s already dry.

The only way to bring the RH up in the hard is to not crack them open. If it won’t go up after a while, put something inside the cure jars to increase the humidity, like a piece of fresh trim.

I've never washed my outdoor plants. Yes i've seen and heard folks do it i guess if they were selling it? Maybe if they had a awful spider mite infestation? They will dunk branches into solutions in a tall garbage can, shake it off and hang to dry. Never ever done after drying though.
