Don't Harvest Your Larf? Half Harvest?

Well hell if the buds won't get any bigger, denser or fill in more then fuck it I'm gonna pull all but one just cuz I want to see if possible that the hydroponic way may let them get jus a lil bigger or denser not that I don't trust your opinion/judgment jus gotta see you know how it is i sure

They do get denser a lil. I never hear of anyone doing this, but Ive thrown them in 24 hour before and had buds and crystal did blow up, buds get hard. It appears the plant finishes the bud super fast in order to reveg. Weird I know. Was going to take a nearly ripe plant and see if I can ripen by 24/7 light, then pull a sample daily. Look at the bud material on the bottom of a re veg. Huge trics. But it most definitely changes the flavor to overipe. So there must be a point where they finish quick, but not overipe. I got a million things to try....

Pros and cons..
growing is all about trade offs, taking the good with the bad. Please keep me informed on whatever u do. Always wanting to know more.... especially harvest tricks. And if we could find a way to ripen ahead of nature and chemical free, it would be great. Some strains if not chopped and put in 24/7 still continue to flower, but with 24 hour lights like autos. I know for a fact Jorge is experimenting with this now, or at least did not long ago. Neat for sure. Good luck brother.

That is actually common knowledge amungst botanist and biologist such as I aspire to be what happens is when you are almost done flowering the plant goes into a state of unrest and freaks out as it has not attracted a male plant/Bee to Pollinate with so I goes into beef up mode and thus we get our beautiful buds we all know and love so much then you take that already scared and lonely girl and tell her it is late winter and she freaks the fuck out thinking she has missed her opportunity to be pollinated and make seed to continue the life cycle and she makes one last stand to quickly ripen and be more attractive to a passing bee thus quickly ending her life in hopes to preserve future generations alot of people don't realize this but plants are living breathing thinking beings with feelings the equivalent of a brain in the root system and they even have their own chemical language that can tell other near by species if it is under attack and tell the others to change the time it flowers from day to night One good example of this was done in Arizona where a biologist did a study on wild tobacco plants during moth season he began noticing a strange smell emitting from some of the plants on the edge of the patch that the others did not have after investigating a little bit he noticed moth grubs on a few of the outer plants (the ones making the smell) as he further studied the patch he also noticed only about half of the plants had flowers this day when usually they all do so he stayed out until the late evening to wait and see if they had changed flower cycles or if they just didn't bloom that day due to a drought or something what he then discovered was nothing but amazing at exactly the 12 hour flip of their usual flower time the rest opened up to the nite sky as he spent a few days observing this behavior he also noticed something even more intriguing as he watched the blooms open the moths began landing on them to lay their grubs but before they can even get a few good bites of the tobacco plant its natural predator the bat swoops in and saves the day for the tobacco plant.... what science has concluded from this was a few plants sacrificed themselves to warn the others of in pending doom and in response the rest of the plants changed its flower cycles to protect its self from the grubs via bats and or the plants knew the moths wait for open flowers to lay eggs/larva and also knew the bat eats moths and it also knew that bats are nocturnal if that is not an intelligent life form I don't know what is now granted this is not like the way we or even animals speak or think and yes it may just be self defense mechanisms built in from prehistoric days but that does not change the fact that it thinks

Ya I'll keep you posted bro like I said I'm jus gonna chop em all but one whatever has the most larf and most variety of density so I can see what happens to the stuff that's just hair the stuff that u can see through the softer nugish stuff and ocourse the popcorn buds and see what I don't come out with I will post a pick of the plant I choose a lil later this evening and try to daily update and continue this tid bit till the end

The ripening of the herb on 24/7 I thought was because it is a soft perennial, I'm guessing it has to cycle through every step in order for it to start regeneration.
I'm no scientist, my knowledge mostly comes from observation and trying new things. Why it could be inaccurate. I just started browsing the forums, i'm reading as much as I can, when I can.

Pre and post pictures of live and dried be cool. Another thing u could do is harvest the right side of the plant, and then finish the left. Compared weights and sizes. But it is based on u splitting the buds perfect.

Ya I don't think I will take it as far as splitting it in half just photo and scope each day untill I see full fog I will be keeping them all in until I am finished with my harvest and trimming (do all but one of these last so just in case they do good between now and then they have a chance to prove it) here are some pictures you can check out the first set is from yesterday which was the day of top cola harvest not exactly detailed

The next set was taken just now about 24 hr later the ones closest to the ballasts are cheese quake and the set next to it is NYCD! The cheese quake is showing lots of red hair and little signs of fog but not much of it, so still mostly clear at this point was i would say 5% it was the same yesterday as well as for the NYCD it is still all clear and has mostly white pistols but it is nice and sticky so let's see where it goes from hereView attachment 515981

Finally did my cut today and HOLY SHIT The extra week is way worth it I decided to set a timer and not look at them and just focus on my other plants so i did not have any second thoughts on my peoject when i went in and looked i literally got so excited I almost forgot to take any pictures for the thread I mean look at the last picture alone that was just hair a week ago now it's rock hard popcorn I expected something but not this going to repeat a few times during other harvests I have some soil plants coming up in a few weeks that I will redo the experiment with side by side photos of exact buds and size but the second picture below is the same nug in my fingers in the previous pictures then if there is good success with that I will do a full VS control study and finalize with some solid proof it is worth the wait if you grow tall girls with a lil fluff under her skirt

setting the smallest one aside to dry by itself to get a dry weight

so i harvested the top half of the plants @ 8 weeks, and left the bottom half of the plants to mature and finish up for 14 days and it made a huge difference, the buds that normally would be larf are big, green and tight, the smell is very strong and the pistils are nice and orange red, it made a huge difference in the harvest weight total FTW!.
