I finally got this thing setup. Been a couple of weeks in the making but here we are.

Vegged in storage bins in 4 in np's and placed 4 in np inside of 8 inch (wont do that again, when i flipped i had to hand thread roots through other Np.

6k magnetic w/ xxxl hoods in middle of rows

1/2 hp ecoplus commercial chiller w/ inline 1200 gph magdrive pump

full line of DM Gold w/ Zone and i'm running half strength for week 1 and topoff res is half full of nuted water and half RO for the week.

Any advice is welcome..... hope we all learn somethin here!

This is day 2 of flower

Nice looking set up GG.....heads up though as your ppm seems about 2x the strength that would perform best for you.

Try dropping the conc. to something closer to 400-500 as this will allow for easier uptake of water by the plants and should spur on healthier, faster growth.

Also consider changing the line from your chiller pump to black as the clear will certainly promote algae if left exposed.

holy shit 10x10...didnt know they had them that big

Thanks UCHQ i switched my topoff res w/ ro water and zone only phd to 5.7..... teh girls seem to be eating because i noticed about 15 gals down in the res since i switched it... ppms are now @ 750 and should be dropping even further as they eat.... once they drink most of that should i refill w/ week 2 nutes? or just add base nutes until ppms equal propper ppm levels for week 2? also, i remember seeing somewhere on one of the forums for suggested ppm levels @ different weeks, if you have that i woudl appreciate it.

I'm also gonna tape up that 1 inch clear tubing feeding my chiller...... my roots seem a lil light brown and was wondering if thsi is because of the higher ppms w/ nutes or the early stage of root rot (which i've never had before).
Thanks again... GROW

I'll throw up some pics later

holy shit 10x10...didnt know they had them that big

Thanx for stoppin in, i only run tents.... i love the instant controlled environment.... that one is made by Growlab and has plenty of ports for ducting ETC. i have 3 of em and havent had a problem in the few years ive been runnin em...

Day 13

YO...... first uc run = explosive thus far... LOVE IT... y havnt i been doin this since i started?!

I'm a lil worried about the rate at which these are growing. Seems 2-6 inches daily on some of them.

I cant believe how big they are after only 13 days

I dont have any cages up yet but confident that i will need them so if you have any ideas about what i should do in my current stage, all suggestions are welcome.

I'm thinking sq tomato cages. some kinda chicken wire or somethin, not sure yet.

I switched to EC since its the real standard.

EC= 1.1
Temp: 64
PH: 5.7

lookin killler cant wait to see them buddddd how long u takin them? and wat straiin is it?

Nice work growgrow! Love the root porn... :cool

Thanks guys....

Runnin Blueberry, NorthernlightsxSkunk1, sour kush. I'm gonna take em till the trichs dictate they're ripe. my nlsk is usually 10 wk strain... this is first UC run..... will have updates soon

Your plants are already approaching your lights it seems?
How much further do those hoods raise and what is your plan on the flip, are you supercropping or scrogging or buchmaster-ing?

Do you anticipate they will only bush outwards and not upwards when you flip?

Some of my girls are like 4 inches from the glass, which imo is fine because my lights are cool to the touch (got 2 8 inch fans pushin n pullin through em). I flipped almost 3 weeks ago so they only have 1 more week of stretch then they start packin on the weight.
I'm not doing any of the 3 techniques that you mentioned since this is my first UC run and i wanna see how these girls naturally perform in the system. Once I figure that out, it will dictate which strain i want to run on my 2nd run. Thus far, blueberry is by far my largest both bushy and HUGE but doesnt like the high ppms like my others, Sour kush is tall n lanky, NorthernlightsXskunk1 is Fat n bushy w/ a shit ton of tops and likes to keep its canapy even. So, we'll see how they'll do. Thanks for stoppin in

GROW!

Day 30

Soooo..... Girls seem 90% happy...... but I think i am catching some problems early on and have some questions for you guys... Provided pics...

ISSUE 1:

If you look at my biggest plant, the leaves out of direct light are canoeing and the ones under the hoods are super happy.

ISSUE 2: Brown Gunk on Uniseals- I provided a picture It wipes right off and isnt slimy..... but when i lift my roots a lil out of the system and I start to put it back in the water gets cloudy and lil tiny broken pieces of root are floating around. Also.... there are particles settling on the bottom of the buckets...

Ive already had to cut out some dark lil areas in the roots...... maybe like an inch round hole or so because they get all tangled and start rotting...

16 plants are drinking around 5-10 gpd

PPMS: 560
WaterTemp: 64
PH: 5.8 rising around .2 every 24 hrs

Room temps are at 72F
RH 46

No CO2

PLEASE COMMENT ON THE BROWN GUNK

Roots look to be very healthy....likely hood is that debris on the uniseals is just nutrient film (precipitated minerals) and root exudate. Assuming your root zone conditions remain ideal you should be fine.

Home Depot... Concrete section... 6"x6" square's and ya need a good set of side cutters. We run in vertical lighting setup but works great for us as bring able to tie off to and plenty of room. Check out the DIY section for my thread that has some pics in there if ya want.

Nice looking grow, lots going on in that 10'x10' tent, very nice work! Happy growing!!

Your still at a good stage to Supercrop or LST those taller branches to bring them back into the light footprint.

Being that they are mature plants, it might be harder to squeeze and bend those top cola, if you pinch right above a node and rotate you should be able bend and not break the stem..

This will promote stress (good stress) in which the place that you bent will knot up and curl back upwards, usually within 12 hours of bend.

I have some examples in my gallery as well as search for "supercropping"

This is how I maintain an even canopy...

It is not too late to pinch, I notice hella yield increases by supercropping the top colas all the way up to week 6.

If the stem is too woody that I suggest simple hemp twine and some screws and some tying down.

Shits looking good grow g! Ive noticed the brown film and it even has a nute smell in mine so I let it ride. Also my leaves are trippin too but im just rolling with the flow!

Merry xmas...I love this system... Fastest growth ive ever seen and If you spend the dough on the right equiptment you can leave like i did for 4 days and come back to beautiful herb thats doubled in weight....

However, I did have one problem in which i believe my research will solve. The PH dropped from like 5.6 to 4.0 over the 4 days..... PPMS dropped from 560 to 420.....

Please correct me if I'm wrong but there can be a couple of scenarios.... root rot, plants not eating, and UNDERFEEDING. In my case, the roots look a lil tan but ok
(I was worried because I found a shit ton of brown algae in my res which i immediatly dumped/bleached and renuted) and i run so much zone and h202 that the roots are still good to go. The plants are definatley sucking down water and rapidly stackin weight. So i attributed it to UNDERFEEDING! I am going to bump my PPM's to 1k tomorrow and see how they react.

I'm not out of the woods yet but Check out the pics

thanx guys for chimin in... I dont want to train or do anything "extra" to these girls just to see how they Want to react to the system itself. Next run I will do some training/supercropping etc. I'm lovin the growth and i can definatly see the potential of this system for my next harv..... I think i've nailed it down to the blueberry which is the exploding one in the middle :)...

GROW!!

They might herm that close to the light. Too many foot candles at that distance. Also issues with bud density may arise.

Glad you're stoked.
