AMARILLO -- A DPS traffic stop Tuesday on I-40, yielded 80 pounds of marijuana valued at over $354,000 and five pounds of hashish valued at over $56,000.
The trooper pulled over a 2013 Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound on I-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.
During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 69 bundles of marijuana and 40 hashish candy bars.
The driver and passenger were identified as 27-year-old Kenneth Tilman Perkins Jr, and 28-year-old Patrick K Peters, 28, both of Littlerock, Arkansas.
Both occupants were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, to Little Rock, Ark.
