have you been able to compare smoke tests jacks vs GH yet? Id be very curious to hear of your comparison?
I'm trying to get packed up at the office and head out for the weekend, but I'll be back later, I think we might have a few things to talk about.

I would say it's for a live system as they say to never use H2O2, but I also do not see any beneficial bacteria additives like hydroguard. It's a mystery to me.

Just my 2 cents for what it's worth, personally, after my experience with AN, I would stay away from this. If I had listened to Moe back when I bought the AN, I would not have had any of the issues I had on my first grow trying to go bigger and better than GH.

Not saying these won't work, they might be stellar. I am just gun shy after my experience going through the same decisions you are now making.

All this reminded me of an experience when I was a child. My mom and aunt gave me and my cousin some $ to go to the store and buy a balsa wood airplane and go to the park and fly them. I remember my cousin got this plain looking glider, but I wanted all the bells and whistles, so I got the one with the rubber band wind up propeller, super cool right?. We went to the park and my cousin had this great time with this plane that would fly a loooong ways, do loop-de-loops, all the cool stuff! Mine was a POS and I had a terrible time because the thing just did not work. For whatever reason, that inner child in me still wants to rear it's ugly head, I did that when Moe recommendd GH (cool glider), but I just had to have the wind up propeller....same result, different decade, lol.I

As a side note, that airplane I bought took all the money my mom gave me, I barely had enough. My cousin had money left over for candy. I do remember he shared his candy with me but not his glider, lol.
That is a great line of nutrients. I ran it for about a year and a half. I ran the AB, flower and resin, organ a bud and silica. It was by far the best line I have ran. Nothing wrong with GH but it definitely have some extra goodies not in say GH.

I defer to @Anthem on these nutes. He has far more experience than me.

As far as live / sterile, your best bet to get similar to live soil grow is to go with a live res, meaning beneficial bacteria and mycos. That's essentially what you are doing in the soil.

My favorite product is great white for this. You probably have more experience growing than me, so I'm not sure just how much info you need on the switch to hydro. You familiar with great white?

Jeff,
Are you running the Floramax line? I used that line for about a year or so and really liked it. Just to much hydro tax for hydro. I think I hit my best run with the stuff in FFOF. Like 2.75 per light
Its what Im currently leaning heaviest to, as multiple people have all raved on it at being easy, great quality smoke, and stays clean and stable in rezs. I looked and it looks like the main guy I follow does add life using the hydro bio product, which looks similar to a great white type product, Im still in the planning stages though and getting all my parts together

yea from my understanding and observations, GH is the Wal mart of nutes - huge and everywhere. I dont mind putting in extra $ and time to have the best quality i can, i may regret that decision...but thats generally how my thoughts

yea ive used a few products like that, great white and recharge, photosynthesis plus etc. I think this is prob what I will do as well then, unless i have issues and need to change it up.
I just hope to not deal with to much biofilm clogging the works or any wierd growths happening.

A Buncha good growers here.. Just tryna steal some goodies.
You don’t mix product lines? Stole from Trustfall, but I added New Mellenium - Fulvic and Winter Frost to AN with great results, for me at least 😂.

Yea many times In the past I have gone with multiple parts from multiple product lines. I think with the new adventure in hydro I am prob going to go with one line + bennies, and get a benchmark for the system, and 1 product line, so from there I can dial in, and do experimentation to improve

When you look at that floramax chart there is no tapering off with the nutes at the end..the guys raving on how good it is are they not following the chart and reducing the strength .I’m just thinking whether this will affect the the quality of smoke and make it a little harsh ..

Yea Ive heard / discussed the charts of this nute line and a few others and it seems its more about the ratios then sticking exactly to a chart...and reading the plants to see what PPM / EC level they want

Feels like forever, but starting to get things rolling. We are moved into our new place, which upgraded me into a medium sized garage, and out of flower tents again. The new place still has a lot of work to go, but starting to get it all together. one light in the first round will have the new RDWC setup, which will be the biggest shift in grow style in over a decade for me. The other light will be my standard style in soil. I plan after round 1, assuming I like what I see from RDWC, to add 4 more sites to make it an 8 site no soil, no medium, no more lugging pots, no more lugging around top dressing, or shop vacuuming up water and soil. Goal will be much much cleaner!

Part of this obviously (perhaps) also means I will be way less plants than I typically was doing, which means, Ive had to make some hard choices as to what its staying in my library to be used, and what just didnt make the cut. The choice came down to me wanting to stay in my lane, working my lines. The world doesn’t need me to work more gelato and cookies and hype stuff, so will be focusing on my core lines that I’ve built. I retired the glue, the GMO, the cookies, the gelato, and such. So - plan for the RDWC 4 slots - all dfg.

And as far as breeding goes - I’ll be looking to doing some preservations of my oldest lines, looking like first up will be.

Sour Cherry (c4 Casey band x Livers X Cherry Cheese) x Orange OG Sr71 Purple Kush. Will do an open pollination of whatever I can get to germinate. I made these…quite a while ago now, at least 10 years now, and they have moved to Covelo from Oregon and back in a u haul, shipped to Hawaii and back, and were in an RV fridge for a year as well as 2 years in our Hawaii off grid fridge with tons of power issues…so they haven’t had perfect storage. Will pop the last 40 left in existence, and hope for enough to do an open pollination, while also do some large outcrossing with the above-mentioned strains as well.

Well, the current culture / diy piecemeal system is starting to come together. Everytime I do plumbing like this I have to chuckle to think people can do this with only one trip to the home depot, I also seem to take 6 trips and a pile of extra shit I didn’t really need. But, its starting to get done. Got the hard 3" pvc stuff all primed and glued and set, and got my measurementss for the soft line I need to run from the filter to the pump, as well as go from the drain ts to drain the buckets. Hopefully in 3 more trips to home depot and another day of work Ill be able to fill and test for leaks.

Moms are growing nice now from the move, so should be pulling cuts of those here in the next couple days as well. I did a grandevo spray yesterday and want to get a suffix oil spray in as well before I pull cuts, then when I pull cuts, I’ll do a lost coast or zymes dunk. I always get extra paranoid when moving, as the plants don’t get ideal conditions during the tear down and setup phase, which always makes it easier for pests to come in.

But, anyway, things are moving along. I know, this is kind of the boring stuff right now, but I promise, bud porn will be just around the corner!

Subbed,

Enjoy the water, ive been growing a 4 site current culture setup for 10 years with good success yield wise anyways. Quality is a personal experience.

Agree with your monsanto reasoning as i cash cropped corn, wheat and beans jn my past life and refused to plant roundup ready.

Well, Crop salt and current culture both sent me a package of nutes to sample, the current culture stuff fedex left on my porch and it was stolen, and crop salt actually locked it in my box, so looks like crop salt is who I will be running for the first round.
