rapid rooters seem to be doing the trick. Losing power Memorial weekend showed me that rapid rooters need that frequent flooding.

Veg- Chemdog #4/okie. 6 weeks cut and she will be going to flower this week

Oreoz- 28 days. This grow is off, she needs more light

Apple fritter - 56 days flower, 13 days pre flower and she is starting to show some leaf fade.

Chemdog #4 is going to get a new home for her root zone. The 3x3 tray was put in to hold 4 plants and it holds 7 buckets of rocks. It works but will less be as effective. Downsized the lights and there’s a clear negative effect on the plants. Will a smaller root zone area hurt? Hopefully not. Here’s the candidates

Decided to go with the smaller of the 2, 15 gallon capacity should work well. Botanicare flood and drain fittings take a 1 3/8” bit. 2” bit for the nuts to sit in.
Passed the leak test so now it just figuring out a couple things, primarily this tub is going to flood deeper than where it came from. That’s important info

Same store 3 or 4 years later. The resv (40gl) $29.99, today the 15 gallon tote is $29.99. Fucking stupid really, go buy a battery for your car…..take a thick wallet

I started this project months ago and it’s been a long frustrating expensive project. When I cut back to 1 plant grows I thought 2x2 flood trays just like I have in veg. Those are difficult if not impossible ($80shipping) when you do.
I found some at Dealzer.com that online retailer is a scam. Got me for 3 digits. Auto replies tell the tell. STAY AWAY
So a local replacement will work just fine. Holds 2.75 buckets compared to 7. Has a root zone of 6.5” instead of 3.5” deep. Tinkered with the planting depth to keep that consistent. Switched back to a 1K bulb, only 1 change at a time

I’ve got a buddy that is the only person I’ve personally meet that shares the same level of passion for anything cannabis as I do. He’s got the day off and we going to make some black tar. Well that’s what it looks like shit will fry that so that’s really all that matters. Skipping winterization for this batch

One of my primary goals building this grow op was to learn how to process. Special thanks to @PlumberSoCal2 for sharing his method, gave me the motivation to try a capsule. This project isn’t about using up trim, I’m starting with the best flower in the cabinets; Chemdog #4/Okie 45 grams and a quart 32 fluid ounces of refined coconut oil. Time to wake up Shorty

does if prove useful to cover an upper soil level with a drainage? I mean, I add some on the bottom of the pots usually

No it would not be, but this Hydroton, not soil. The fabric is to keep the rocks free of debris so cleaning the rocks is easier

I’ve usually ground flower before processing so I just went with what I’ve done. Put the ground flower in first then the oil into a mason jar and a water bath for 4 hours at 190.
First strain through a pasta strainer then a 2nd pass over a screen. Only got about 28 ounces in so you can see the color change. Cool down before anything else

68 days flower, 13 days pre flower so she’s been in chamber for 81 days. That’s a record for this grow room and it only happened because she’s had a 600 watt since she moved over. She’s more than I was expecting from that bulb
